Fine, try it. Give up everything science and technology has given us and set out into the wilderness. Remember, no clothes, no weapons to defend yourself (not even a pointed stick, once some primitive scientist discovered that sharpening a stick made it a better defense against predators than a blunt stick). You can't build a shelter, that's technology. No fire to cook any meat or plants you might manage to acquire. Just whatever you can do with your unaided body, teeth and nails. If you get lost don't navigate by the sun or stars, that's science.
Come back in a couple of days and let us know how you get on. Or not.
Lol! Struck a nerve did I?Fine, try it. Give up everything science and technology has given us and set out into the wilderness. You are talking about applied science. You say science gives us the tools to make things better...but do all scientists engage in professions that make things better? And do that?
OK your sick, but don't blame atheists.I'm so sick and tired of atheist secular scientism it's just another religion.
Scientists are engaged in deciphering that which was handed down to a bunch of marginally literate people a few thousand years ago, sorry but as you should know from all the things you don't understand, we have had to figure it out on our own. We have figured out that bugs are bugs, but give them enough time and they may not look like what a five year old would call a bug. Other things have changed enough that some people have trouble comprehending the changes. You say science gives us the tools to make things better...but do all scientists engage in professions that make things better? And do that?
Not at all. Discoveries are different than plastics polluting the ocean. Unless you want to say they discovered plastics are hurting the environment. And I am happy there are tests for illnesses as well as vaccines. You are talking about applied science.
You seem to want to blame scientists for their discoveries.
I realize there are scientists hired by firms clearly producing products that are hurting humans and the environment who are said to hope to lessen the deleterious effects of the pollutants produced by the firm.Yes, there are scientists that sell their soul to dubious research projects, but that is the same in all professions, including preachers.
It was a scientist who invented computers, made the motor car, got us to the moon, but also invented the atomic bomb and algorithms that swing elections.
Ah, I'm glad you said that about bugs. Thank you. Give them enough time, who knows? Maybe they will evolve to...??? Sorry, you guys and gals are making me laugh a little.Scientists are engaged in deciphering that which was handed down to a bunch of marginally literate people a few thousand years ago, sorry but as you should know from all the things you don't understand, we have had to figure it out on our own. According to what I read that's right, many scientists are not atheists. "30–37% of scientists identify as non-believers or atheists, and an additional 10–28% as agnostic (with wide geographical differences) [17, 19]. In comparison," Creating a foundation for origin of life outreach: How scientists relate to their field, the public, and religion - PMC.OK your sick, but don't blame atheists.
Scientists are not necessarily atheists, and religious beliefs, including atheism has nothing to do with science,
Science only involves the knowledge of our physical existence. Solving the problems of humanity is uppppppp to problematic humans and applied sciences, Science can be used for good and of course bad
Go ahead and laugh at yourself, it is good for you.Ah, I'm glad you said that about bugs. Thank you. Give them enough time, who knows? Maybe they will evolve to...??? Sorry, you guys and gals are making me laugh a little.
Laugh about what???Ah, I'm glad you said that about bugs. Thank you. Give them enough time, who knows? Maybe they will evolve to...??? Sorry, you guys and gals are making me laugh a little.
I'm laughing as I read your question because after I read my post and your question I laughed out loud because it's kind of hard to believe you did not understand what I was laughing about...lol...but that's ok by now. Have a good evening, sir.Laugh about what???
Sorry for you but you don't get the joke. It's ok. There are comedians and not everyone thinks they're funny. (lolol again...) Yes, you guys are making me laugh. Out loud.Go ahead and laugh at yourself, it is good for you.
That is like asking why a hammer hasn't been able to solve the homeless crisis.I'm so sick and tired of atheist secular scientism it's just another religion.
All a person has to do is look at governments, rebellions, people taking the lead, people cheating on their taxes, people taxing others while they get away with hiding what they earn, etc. If you don't understand that and how it relates all I can say is -- have a good day and bye for now. But thanks for your response which -- does show me a lot. So I encourage you to think about things. Take care. You are talking about applied science.

Yup they are all acts of human beings and thus related as such, none of them have to do with the practice of science as a method of discovering new knowledge. A scientist can practice any of those behaviours just as any other human can, but they are not science. All a person has to do is look at governments, rebellions, people taking the lead, people cheating on their taxes, people taxing others while they get away with hiding what they earn, etc. If you don't understand that and how it relates all I can say is -- have a good day and bye for now. You have complaints about the general human condition. All a person has to do is look at governments, rebellions, people taking the lead, people cheating on their taxes, people taxing others while they get away with hiding what they earn, etc. If you don't understand that and how it relates all I can say is -- have a good day and bye for now.
What has that got to do with scientists or the topic. All a person has to do is look at governments, rebellions, people taking the lead, people cheating on their taxes, people taxing others while they get away with hiding what they earn, etc. If you don't understand that and how it relates all I can say is -- have a good day and bye for now.
