If you had the power of God... what would you do?

And because I can exhibit a mediocum of foresight before I put up a topic, for anyone who wants to ask what God is capable of doing, God can do anything you believe God can do.

God can do anything I believe god can do?
Well then, if I was god, I would just hang out, you know... while not existing and not doing anything whatsoever, because I believe that is the only thing god can do.

First thing, I would make a good number of news anchors make total fools of themselves (more so than what some of them already do, i.e. Glen Beck.). I could make them all drop dead, but what would be the fun in that?

Then I think I would put every bigot on this planet into a state of suspension, and force them to mentally live out being what they hate, and dealing with the struggles and pains people like them cause.

Aside from that, I would probably just have fun with it. Maybe even create and raise an over sized animal. It would be cool as long as it doesn't take a massive dump over any of my temples.

Abolish birth and (permanent) death*. Resurrect every single human being who ever was, and spread the entire race across the stars (with portals that allow instantaneous travel between worlds). dispense karmic justice for every instance innocents are/were ever victimized. Have apostles spread the virtues of liberty, honor, compassion and reason among the masses. But other than that I would try to keep my intervention and interaction at a minimum and allow the human race it's autonomy and self-sovereignty.

*People could still be wounded or killed, but eventually regenerate and resurrect. There would still be pain, but less intense. Unpleasant but not traumatic.

I would make the world a bit more complicated for humans, add an extra dimension, remove a few hours from thursdays, switch the colors blue and purple, move paris to australia, name the i-pod the "o-pod".. stuff like that.. Would keep me busy for at least a few days..

I've been thinking about this ever since. Before, if you are going to ask me that, my answer would be: I'll be showing wonders (levitation, controll of weather,manipulation of time,etc) and miracles( including healing of the sick) to the people so they will believe that there is really God. But now, I think if I have that kind of power, I'll use it to create a new Earth.

If I were/had the power of God, then I'd create two extra dimensions - a pleasure (good) one, and a pain (bad) one.

Meanwhile, we'd all live in this one (which I'm guessing is Neutral/capable of both good and bad etc). I'd connect everyone's minds subconsciously to the bad dimension, but allow their bodies, conscience and sensory organs to live in and react to the Neutral dimension. Therefore, everyone would already kind of know or have knowledge of pain and suffering, but wouldn't actually have to physically experience it. Therefore, mentally they can learn lessons (like don't put your hand in fire) and "experience" pain, but physically they'd not need to be hurt, since they'd already know of it, if you get me lol.

Then a lot of bothers in life could be avoided, and a lot of physical lessons wouldn't need to be physiaclly learnt, they could all be mentally covered. So, we all could spend more time physically experiencing the Neutral/Pleasure's of life, without needing to physically be "scarred" in order to prevent further pain etc etc.

Then I'd shift Humanity and all creatures to a brand-spanking new planet and build things properly there. Yet the people wouldn't become greedy, selfish or ungratefull, since part of their pysche would still be living in the painfull dimension, so they'd all appreciate the Neutral physical life - and hopefully they'd then behave and work together to find a purpose


Oh, and then I'd dismantle all religious authority, and probably buy a waterbed or a new table.

A pertinent question to ask here as well would be if, in such a scenario, you think you might abuse such a gift. I know I would certainly be tempted. :yes:

If I had the power of God I'd remake the universe into something more appealing to me.

Earth would be a world of gothic fantasy, with humanity living in enormous fortified towns for fear of the dark creatures dwelling in the sprawling forests around them. High in the mountains there would be twisted castles in which vampires, werewolves and dragons rest upon piles of bones and looted treasure.
I would probably incarnate myself on Earth as some terrible monster, just for the fun of it. For an indeterminate amount of time, humanity would face torture and darkness on a global scale.
Then I'd feel sorry for them and remake the world as a utopia, where everybody gets along and nobody misses out on the fun of life.
Then I'd get sick of them and it's back to the darkness, death and misery...
Then I'd feel sorry for them again...


In short I wouldn't be able to make my mind up on what exactly Earth should look like. The result would be a constantly twsting and changing universe.
