:(:(:( Never!!! Leave the lions alone! Hunt the deer, instead! But, not the lions and tigers!

Hunt the merciless hunters instead. I know it's not very Christian of me but I totally hate anyone who kills or harms creatures for pleasure. I think they're psychopaths who need to be removed from the population to protect life and clean up the gene pool. They are subhuman in my eyes. Sickos posing with corpses...no different from what that "kill team" group did in Afghanistan by murdering civilians and taking pictures of themselves with the bodies.

How is killing a lion any worst than emprisoning thousands of cows for all their lives in dark spaces until you kill them so other people can have fleeting moments of gastronomical pleasure?

Granted, I havent read the article, but if she had personally tortured the big cat to his dead it would be thousands of times less grave than owning a big meat factory or however they are called.

What about peole that eat animals that were killed for their gastronomical pleasure?

Notice I am not talking about survival here.

Hunting deer (with restrictions) I'm O.K with . I personally would only hunt them to protect the population and eat the meat. (I don't eat the meat but others do) . Deer at least in parts of the country I grew up in were over populated "hence" starving out" in the winters. They were killed to "thin them out".They were starving.

Also if you are going to eat the meat then yeah. I get that.

Not for sport to hang a head on your wall AT RISK ANIMALS.

Eating the meat doesnt make any difference unless you actually need the meat for survival.

At least when you hang their faces in your wall you will enjoy them for a lot more time than those who killed them for gastronomical pleasure.

Even though I eat meat, I'm not going to argue for the morality of it, especially in industrialized societies and the sickening practice of factory farming. I realize that we are animals and predatory animals at that, but I think that we're going to have move beyond that to enter a higher stage of evolution of consciousness and the expansion of empathy on the road to becoming Christlike.

Sounds reasonable to me.

That said, I must say I find it hypocritical to pretend a sport hunter is any worst.

Sport hunting is just killing for pleasure. You can't say that the animal's body is going to any actual use like providing nutritional sustenance. But I do find factory farming to be completely evil.

Of course I can. For most people , killing an animal to eat it because you want something to eat makes as much sense as me going to a library and borrowing books and then using them for a bonfire because I need something to burn.

Its a ridicuous excuse. Few people can actually say they eat meat for survival. The eat meat for PLEASURE.

Killing for the easure of it and having the head for e pleasure of seeing it for decades gives more pleasure on the ling run than that which you would have extractwd from eating the body when you could just have had a bowl of rice with beans.

We eat meat for pleasure. I include myself because I did for almost two decades. I understand why it happens, its habit and its hard to break it and everyone pretends its okay and we are human so we pretend its okay or just that it is okay not to try to change it. I was there.

Bt letsot pretend those evil hunters are so evil hunting for pleasure

Its really the same.

I view killing a human as a much much much bigger sin than killing a non human animal, but if someone told you that a canibal murderer is better than a regular murderer because at least he kills to eat... Well, hopefully you can understand how it doesnt really make sense.

The intensity of the sin is lesser with non human animals, but the logic does not become less flawed.

People don't eat just for pleasure. Some people have to eat meat for health reasons. Yes, meat is tasty but that's not the only reason why we eat it. Even herbivores have been known to eat meat at times to supplement their diet.

I always found the logic of comparing eating meat itself to things like sport hunting to be a complete failure.

Almost no one in any condition, if anyone, has to eat meat for health reasons.

Sometimes meat is needed because you do not have any other possible alternative that is as nourishing (like if you live in a tribe in the amazonia)

Unless you just had an accident and lost lots of blood or similar, you really dont need meat. The ADA (american dietary association) can tell you that a good vegetarian diet is healthy for all kinds of people on all their stages of development.

Even if some rare people really needed meat, they would be the exception to all the others that eat meat for pleasure or ignorance.

Cause a veggie diet is also cheaper.

I've heard multiple people say they had to go back to eating meat for health, including my own mother. Yes, it happens.

Fruits and vegetables aren't as cheap as they used to be.

Either way, I'm not here to argue over the ethics of meat eating. I already gave my opinion on that. If you're a vegetarian, good for you and I support that choice for you.

Yout mother probably didnt have a good nutritions plan

Its nt uncommon. Sme people just stop eating meat and dont see what they need or how to get it.

If the ADA is wrong and your mother is one of those extremely rare exceptions, then well, for some really exceptional cases meat may be necessary.

I know my nutritiost ( that is not a vegetarian and doesnt advice vegetarianism) very well says there is no problem of health that comes with a well planned veggie diet.

So she is unbiased (and if anything biased towards meat eating) and says vegetarianism is a perfectly healthy choice.

You may not want to argue it, so by all means dont.

Its still about ignorance and pleasure.

I don't agree that it can just be summed up as "ignorance and pleasure". Looking at the evolution of the human animal, it's more complex than that. But we'll have to agree to disagree.

Evolution has little to nothing to do with it. We are omnivores, we are able to eat both meat and plants.

We are also able to survive with a plant based diet according to the ADA and nutriotinists around the world.

Disagree away.

Yes it's horrible and I'm signing a petition for it. I find it disgusting that people take pleasure in killing, regardless of the target. You are taking a life, that's no respect towards life. Why do we always wait until species are endangered to protect them? It's stupid. There's nothing brave about hunting such a beautiful animal.

Plus I've got to say, emotionally, cats are my favourite animals. Big or small I love them. So this b***h really makes me angry.

Petition here, btw: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/387/581/929/stop-melissa-bachman/?z00m=20670452#sign

It doesn't tell her to stop but taking her off TV is a start.

Funny you say that . Right after I saw this a lion killed a lion at the Dallas zoo 2 days ago .First time its happened in the history of the zoo . They don't know why . Im not mad at the lion that killed the lion though. And the Dallas zoo to my understanding takes mostly animals that are rescued. Our zoo had 5 lions. 3 females and 2 males. Now one less female.:(

Dallas Zoo can't explain why lion turned on lion | wfaa.com Dallas - Fort Worth

I'm sure it's just their nature. Lions and other cats..especially males... fight for dominance, food, territory and mating...but I'm sure they have personalities like we do so something could have just set him off. I don't like the idea of animals in a zoo but I can understand if they are rescue animals that might not be able to survive otherwise in the wild.....I'm totally against hunting these animals.

I have had the priveledge. If you heard the roar of a lion .You would never forget it .Its bone chilling thrilling.

See a tiger ? Thrice the thrill. Tigers are the largest of the wild cats. Most don't realize that .Lions are smaller than tigers. Their size mesmerizes you .when you are looking at a cat that weighs 600lbs ??? OMG .. Lions are more about 300lbs.

That one in the picture? Hes HUGE .Hes probably 400 /500 lbs.

Awesome..!!

She'd impress me more hunting a Lion with a tranquilizer gun. More skill needed too.
These lions are endangered or close to it.
