Nor to me either. It's actually happening and I've citied it numerous times in RF (here as well).
The "best" story was when Amazon pulled a certain copy of a Kindle print that had Animal Farm and 1984. This was perfectly legal for them to do, even though users paid for this content. It's all in the TOS (and copyright laws entirely outside of consumer hands).
And, really, I don't think Deere gives a **** about having happy customers or they wouldn't be suing them, enforcing bs agreements, and making repairs more of a hassle than they already are.
Unhappy customers makes for disappearing customers.
So I'm sure Deere cares. We don't know the story.

It's not limited to Deere. Sony has a big fiasco over it with the Playstation 5 and customizing it shortly after they launched it. And, it's their right because when you buy a Playstation you agree it is not yours and you will not modify it.
Another way to look at in the gaming world is paid "loot boxes." Some countries have banned them due to the gambling-like nature, and gamers hate them because they give unfair advantages and make games "pay to win." And companies who are the most hated for doing it have not stopped doing it, nor have their player bases vanished proportionately to the number of complaints.
These aren't the people who smashed their Metallica albums for "selling out" when Metallica made a music video. Although I assume, given how humans are, most of them just did it for show and have bought their albums on vinyl, cassette tape, compact disc, and digital format. Because everyone gets mad, few actually do anything about it.
