Implausability of Satan.

Most of those substances, in their purest form, have medicinal value. Man has perverted their use.
Yes, "medicinal value" for the exact same effects. Cocaine relieves pain whether you're using it for medicinal purposes or just to get high. The fact that the resulting high is physically addicting has nothing to do with what you use it for, and is, if anything, God's fault.

Some plants should only be used topically and not ingested. We're getting off topic...

I will comment on the concept of Satan.

First idea: Satan was once known as Lucifer the wondrous being of light that fell because of selfishness and pride to become the arch type of evil and the divine teacher of lies.

Second idea: That evil exists and is possible.

Third idea: That evil is the only possible result of selfishness and pride – regardless of their intelligence, or goodness – evil will overtake any unaware that entertains their passions, wants, desires and even needs without discipline and limits. It is the nature of evil to push whatever limits an individual sets or defines as just.

Final idea: There is so much evil that occurs and reoccurs in history I am hard pressed in accepting that an intelligent species, such as mankind, is unable to evolve beyond the horrors that not only continue to devastate society but seem to find new outlets as man has developed advanced technology. Anciently the concept was put forward that man is deceived and led away from truth and enlightenment by a pervasive intelligent divine source determined to corrupt every human willing to try or explorer the fascinations of temptations.

The single fact that mankind moves ever closer to “intelligent” self annihilation and is unable to intelligently resolve even the most simple and obvious horrors would indicate that both source and solution is not within the scope of what defines mankind. Until there is a better explanation – I will stick with the ancient time proven one.
