in a sentence or less, whats the meaning of life

blackout

Violet.
The meanings of our lives
are the meanings we give/impart/see/understand in them.

This business of "meaning"
is a human affair.

Life is a manifestation to which we all are brought into in order for our souls to learn and evolve so that one day we might become somehow closer to god.

one sentence sucks :p

Some are obviously missing the similarity between physical and spiritual short-sightedness. Poor eye-sight does not only apply to human life it also restricts our spiritual vision. In this life we seek assistance from an optician (or even more sophisticated gadgets) on the other hand we need GOD to enhance vision into the future.

I'm talking for the non-masochistic ones, but even for masochists, they find happiness from pain, so even they prefer happiness to depression. I can't see why you would prefer a life of depression instead of happiness. Care to enlighten me?
It's not a matter of preferring. Most people would prefer to be happy. But what's the value of happiness? Why is it better than feeling bad? I mean of course it feels better, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is better, unless your worldview actually states that the feeling of happiness is the ultimate good.
