IN God's Image

I do stuff
The reason it says "in our image" is because God the Almighty was speaking to his first creation in the garden of Eden.Genesis 1:26 This first creation is Jesus Christ.
I can't find that verse in my Bible. What Bible are you reading?

lol, it says Christian under your name.... The gospel of John starts all things were made by him and through him, therefore people assume jesus was the first creation. ;)

Yeah..not to many can understand.

If people would juts stop make it up on the fly, it would be easier for us all to understand.

One thing is certain, the biblical verses you originally used, are not credible to interpret the text in context

Why did the Christian God say let us create man in our Image rather then In my Image.

Personally, I believe it is because the Hebrew originally had a God and Goddess.

Gen 1:26 And Elohiym said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27 So Elohiym created man in his own image, in the image of Elohiym created he him; male and female created he them.

We don't get a lone, named YHVH, until Gen 2:4 where he is called YHVH Elohiym. Which I interpret as YHVH of the Elohiym.

There is actually a Tanakh text where they say they were better off when they made offerings to their Goddess.

Jer 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the Queen of Heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Jer 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the Queen of Heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Jer 44:18 But since we left off to burn incense to the Queen of Heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
