In U.S., 12 Million Americans Believe The World Is Run By Lizards From Outerspace

Oh my, what creationists have to go through to show why we have reptile DNA. Everyone needs to realize the truth that alien greys are not lizards!

Don't be serious. Seriously
So this is a very interesting subject.... To think we're alone in this universe in any way is... well your personal opinion. Do reptilian overlords rule the earth? Wish I knew. There's a lot of anecdotal accounts and some interesting information if you go down that rabbit hole. Doesn't add up to jack sh** though other than an interesting hypothesis.

There was a time when people believed the earth was held by elephants on the back of a turtle. There was another time when saying the earth was round was potentially a death sentence. Not saying this gives any credence to the matter, but the speculation is interesting with what "evidence" they've been able to gather. Stuff like this is just weird and makes you wonder.

I used to believe David Icke's stuff, too. They're more accurately interdimensional beings, not really from another planet, by the way.

Most people believe in massive unprovable conspiracies of one type or another, so this is no surprise.
Some believe because they're frightened, some because they're comforted, & others because it's their religion.
I prefer Achmed's Razor.....to explain a phenomenon as an emergent property from a stochastic process is better than leaping to a conspiracy.

Good, short article that touches on the reasons people believe in conspiracy theories. Comments?

As opposed to believing that the world is run by a being who sent his son to die on a cross to save humans?

I don't see much difference between that and the belief in lizards as far as evidence goes; only in terms of how much society is accustomed to one but not the other. Neither belief surprises me (and I'm mainly comparing the two because Christianity is the most popular religion in the U.S.).

I'm sure our grey alien overlords are not amused that their benevolent rule is being challenged by lizards.

It would be really funny if these people accept the notion of reptilian leaders but deny the existence of huge, monstrous lizard-like reptiles that dominated the planet millions of years ago.

Who knows? There's so many theories out there, it would be difficult to know which one would be correct. Are there aliens out there? Yes? Is there an order bent on dominating the world? Yes, and that has been known for some time and aliens are involved. Whether those aliens are lizards, grays or whatever I'm not sure.

Don't know why the idea of world domination is beyond some people. Because no government is history has betrayed it's people and no one has every tried to conquer the world, right? Excpet just about every empire has tried.
