A Bible is a collect of specific books not any ole books.
'K. Which specific ones?? The ones in the Protestant bible, the ones in the Roman bible, the ones in the Coptic bible, the ones in the Ethiopian bible, the ones in the Jewish bible? Because they all contain different books.

wrong again

The OT was just collections of collections, redacted over hundreds of years as cultures changed.

the NT differs based on geographic location. Which were factually any ole books based on popularity

They literally represent only a faction of the books that once existed.

It's now the 2nd dumbest. Let's not replace the champ.

And, in this thread as in almost all threads, the person who quotes the dictionary establishes without a doubt that they have no clue what they are talking about.

It's not a rule of thumb. There is no exception.

"I recently wrote a defense of Christianity"
I must first admit that I have not read the essay. For to my mind, the fatal flaw is in the statement itself. That any individual or tradition needs to 'defend' the body of ideas that make up 'Christianity' demonstrates it's inherent weakness: Those ideas cannot defend themselves by any demonstration of efficacy. That is to say the Promise of the Incarnation remain undelivered. It is for that reason that I left the church many years ago and remain unconvinced that the Christian tradition has anything to do with truth.

Wow, it's a war in here. There's a lot of not-being-very-humble going on in here.
Quell your anger, folks, it's unbecoming.

Have some grace, delicacy, articulation -- anything but this lashing out of intellectual barbarism.
