Interesting graphic on the evolution of corn

Here's what 9,000 years of breeding has done to corn, (and watermelon and peaches in the link)

Wheat itself has also gone through an evolutionary process that's quite impressive.

Nice post, btw.

Cool so corn is now intelligently designed but didn't start off as such. Nice.

Hmm. Looks like Humans are more effective at feeding themselves than God is at feeding humans.

Thing is, people keep working to improve their lot in life, whereas god gave up working on everything long ago.

you actually have to wonder about the stages inbetween as well, were the smaller varieties before we got the monster corn any good, I imagine they were.

Then again I prefer organic fruits and vegetables, that's another argument I guess.

Its funny how we marvel at the way man creates new variations of something but not marvel at the original thing itself being created. If we can use design and manipulate it to redesign then doesnt that say something about its design in the first place.

The signifince of this human creation is truly epic in scale. Having dried grains stored is what made civilisation possible. Corn and wheat did not just feed us, they are what made the first cities possible. It is an acheivement that changed our species.

No, nothing at all. Non-sequitur.

Nice! Not as cute as the fox puppies though:

First rule of good scientific practice- eschew the actual implications of far more thoroughly investigated phenomena in support of a conclusion all in favor of cute pictures and adorable images.

So this should be perfect for the thread then

NAAAW are they not the cutest thing you have ever seen?

If that isn't science, I don't know what is. Well, except for creationism obviously. Science is the series of methods by which one relies on flawed logic to reach conclusions not entailed by arguments based upon mischaracterization of evidence and misinterpretations of counter-arguments in order to support criticisms of arguments only slightly less understood then the how flawed these are, right?

Oh...wait...there's other terms for such arguments/tactics...
