I wonder whether the 'whipping' threat is for dog owners who let their animals defecate in public places. It does look as if any animals found in public will be put-down.

In England dogs are banned in many public parks, and on many beaches. Dog walkers are responsible to pick up all their dog's defecations. One breed (pit-bull) is seized and put-down by police.
Only Guide, Hearing, Med assistance and Canine partner dogs are allowed in shops.
We are lucky here because our beech is deserted and therefore there are no rules which ban dogs. Our little dog lives for the beech, foreshore and tidal flats, so this is very important to us.

Maybe you did not read the fact that even this Islamophobic-Iranophobic "source" does not claim that it is a law in Islamic Iran. It is not a law in Islamic Iran. The article says it is proposed and probably will not be accepted.

It's okay, his point was that a county does not define or represent Islam completely. Governments are humans too and they could come up with their own laws according to their own understanding.

Pit Bull laws are pretty common, although they differ in nature. The breed has consistently caused issues with attacks on other dogs, being used for dog fighting, and human attacks.
There are specific laws in many parts of the US as well. Canada, NZ, Australia, etc

Well, so many children get attacked and killed by them, in their own or relative's homes. And gang members in London get American bull-terriers and teach them to attack on command. It won't be long before American bulls get banned.

A few summers ago my wife and I were taking our little dachshund down onto the foreshore when we saw three men and three bull-terriers out on the tidal flats. My wife decided not to take Smew to the watersedge... we would go home. As we watched, the three dogs turned upon each other ferociously. Two of the men (idiots) grabbed their dog's back legs and tried to pull their dogs away, thus increasing the injuries where the dogs jaws gripped. The other man rushed to try and separate the dogs at the jaws end of the fight. Then he started screaming, 'cos one of the dogs had turned upon him. Soon after the other two dogs turned upon him as well. We stood on the cliff top and watched, with other folks, quite unable to assist in any way.

There must have been a meeting of bull-terrier owners because soon afterwards several men (who we discovered were bull-terrier owners) rushed out to the dogs and beat them off with clubs and metal bars. Two of the dogs died later (put down by vets because of their injuries), and the man was rushed to hospital. His injuries were horrific, my wife heard from her boss .... the vet who put down the dogs. We reckon that the men had gathered to fight their dogs........

Yeah...... bull-terriers. They are the most abandoned dogs in Britain...... I wonder why.

I'm aware of what people think of pit bulls. I think the dogs are greatly misunderstood and unfairly maligned. I think they're one of the breeds of dog that is most in need of our love and compassion due to how we treat them and scapegoat them.

.... my wife's boss comes into contact with pit-bulls all the time, under contract to kill them. His take is different to yours, but he has real life contact with them. You almost certainly do not.

Why don't you take a look at the link I posted? Spewing alarmist stats at me isn't going to change my opinion. I love pit bulls and know they aren't the monsters that the ignorant make them out to be. Yes, pit bulls can be kept as family pets and many people do with no problems. They have a long history as family pets. It's not right to punish an entire breed of dog for merely existing and not focus on educating people. Punish the bad dog owners, not the dogs!

Pit bulls aren't banned in America like they are in the UK.

I've known pit bulls. The neighbors I used to have had a pit. She was a sweetheart.

Terriers, which pits are, are a very energetic and athletic breed of dog. Some people take advantage of that and use them in dog fights or mistreat them as guard dogs. But if you care for them properly, they can be very loving and loyal dogs, like any breed of dog. Even pits who have been abused and who have behavioral problems can be rehabilitated. There's programs that do that. Sure, not all of them can be rehabilitated but it's not hopeless for all of them.

What is the Islamic punishment for keeping/hugging/playing with dogs without cleaning yourself? What will happen if dogs are kept indoors/walked in a true Sharia country?
