Be careful crossing that border.oh jeez! I heard about this too dude....
I SO can't wait to get back into Canada this summer and watch this from a distance.
I don't mind the Canadian side.I cross it a lot... going into Canada is the LEAST of my concerns on the directions I could be heading.
True dat.....I had a gun pulled on me when they asked me what was on my belt, could they see it...
So when I reached for my CAMERA, they also reached for their guns.
"Easy boys.... when I shoot this thing no one gets hurt unwarranted."
They didn't think I was being funny, but ***** dude..... I nearly got a gun put on me for that....
Again I say... when is Iraq going to come liberate us!?
It's their turn!
Funny how America was founded on getting rid of the oppression of the king, unsubstantiated detentions and no rights to a lawyer if deemed unworthy... etc etc etc...
Looks like kids just wanted to be their own kings w/ their own subject.
Police continue to harass citizens who record them | Washington Examiner

Your thoughts about recording the acts of public 'servants'?
Has anyone had a bad experience with law enforcement?
I wouldn't put it past the USSC to construct some extra-constitutional rationale that gov may do what citizens may not. This will go to the Supreme Court if necessary. The implication being, that if citizens can't video in public, then how can the government put up security cameras and video innocent citizens without just cause?
I wasn't watching you.Is America a police state ?
I seem to remember first asking that very same question back in 1976. The pay phone down the street was tapped and there was often an unmarked Plymouth Fury parked across the street from our pad.
Depends on where those cameras are doesn't it.LOL.
Yes, the police do seem to monitor certain areas of illicit activities. It works for me. Public security cams? Does that make good sense or does that make us a police state?

Do all citizen need to be monitored by the state whenever they are outside their homes?

And what if someone does care if you and I meet? It's not like there is no precedent for innocent people to be unfairly tracked by the state here in the USA.Of course. Which is why I said "public security cams". Obviously we still have our Constitutional rights in the USA especially, as in this case, our Fourth Amendment rights.
Monitor all citizens? My perspective is that public areas are monitored. Nobody cares if you and I meet, have a drink and a few laughs. OTOH, if, while we were doing this, we were mugged by some guy who takes off on a motorcycle, wouldn't it be nice if there was a videotape of both the crime and the getaway vehicle?

To be observed in some public areas ain't so bad. The danger is that eventually we might be observed in any public area,Why would they care? It's a public area. If you and I were concerned about being seen on a public security cam we could go to a private area where our Constitutional rights protect us.
Hmmmm....it sems the best way to preserve liberty is to limit government's funding. As for "innocent people to be unfairly tracked", in this nation we're innocent until proven guilty so, yes, "innocent" people are being tracked because they haven't been convicted of anything. However, due to budget cuts and standard financial reasons, police don't have the time or money to track just anyone they feel like. They'd focus on those whom they think are actually involved in illicit activities.
LOL.
