Is Any Religion Superior to Others?

i would call it superior if it brings peace and freedom to everyone. unfortunately it is not religion itself that effects masses, it is people who practice religion according to their personal desires. we see what people do under a name and we think we see religion. but what we see is someoneelses' ego. they are slaves of their egos and masses are controlled by megolomaniacs, not religion itself.

well said... religion should be unifying, and a cause for peace.

Allah, Jehova, Zeus, Ra, Quetzalcoatl , Gensha, Baldar should duke-it out amongst themselves. Like in a tournament. We'd be the spectators. And may the best man win.

Violet.
Our ultimate religion lies in the living of life itself, something which no canon, creed, dogma or saying can either circumvent or fully prepare us for. If we end up worshiping either a book or its contents in any way we have conspired to commit idolatory.

I really like that.
Our ultimate religion lies in the living of life itself.

God is no more found in a church
than anywhere else.

It is not until the individual comes to know God
in ALL of LIFE,
that the floodgates of the supernatural life open wide.

Religions can serve as stepping stones to be sure.
(as can so many other things)
But if the destination of 24/7 life in God....
does not at some point outshine & obsolite the limitations of the church itself (the vehicle),
than the very religion which is supposed to be bringing you into God's life,
becomes instead, nothing more than a "pious" holding pattern.
A "virtual reality" of a counterfiet kind.
An illusion of a life in god, instead of the real thing.
Unfortunately this mix up often keeps people in churches from seeking God further.
After all, who seeks after what they already feel they have, right?

God did not make us for religions.
He made us for LIFE. for living.
That is where we find God 24/7.
In the living of life. In everything.

God is SOOOO beyond religion.
Someday we will be too. :)

Done here.
It's interesting to me how many people claim to believe all religions are equal.

I wonder if anybody here seriously believes that Branch Davidianism, for instance, or Scientology, is just as good as their own religion.

superior is not a word i would use, but i certainly wouldn't say all religion is equal either.

because i see religion as a personal way of growing in the world, the value of religion is found in its effect on the practitioner. one religion might be superior for me than another because i find it benefits me more, where as that same religion could be inferior for someone else because they get more benefits from another path.

religions offer different things to different people, only on that personal level can value be measured, and on that basis you can't say one religion is categorically superior to another.
