If O'Reilly were a serious man, rather than just a TV pundit, he would have mentioned that a main reason so few Black families have a father is the war on drugs. He would also have used in his little speech far fewer logical fallacies. But one cannot expect much of a pundit.

Bill O'Reilly never factors in the drug trade when he talks about violence. He said the reason there is so much violence in Chicago is that there is a high minority population. O'Reilly is the king of manipulating statistics to justify his racism.

Bill O'Reilly is probably one of the dumbest people ever to be allowed to talk on TV, but Obama's not a racist... How do you figure he only likes black people?

Nah, Bill O'Reilly is just an angry old racist.

He doesn't seem to care about institutional racism in the courts or in sentencing that might contribute to a vicious cycle of poverty, which in turn might lead to people becoming desperate and turning to crime. He doesn't care that when the Irish came to this country they were portrayed as violent drunken miscreants in much the same way that blacks were, but because of their white skin, eventually they were able to shed that image. He just wants to cherry pick statistics to serve his insane racist agenda.

This is an interesting statement. Could you elaborate on the correlation of the absence of black fathers and the war on drugs?

Like alot of conservative political pundits, O'Reilly is nothing more than a racist. They'll do anything they can, make any rationalization possible, to justify their racism, and try to sell it to the masses.

Blacks don't commit any more crimes than any other race, they just happen to commit crimes that are more easily identifiable and conspicuous. It's easier to catch a black guy on the corner selling drugs than it is to catch the white CEO in tax fraud.

Those put in prison by the 'war on drugs' are disproportionately people of colour, thus the war on drugs contributes quite significantly to children of colour being raised by a single parent or by a guardian.

Or, if you blame social problems on a single race, you are racist or bigot, or both.


It is a typical ploy to blame social ills on the "other". Throughout American history, those who wish to control the masses find a scapegoat to focus attention away from the real issues.
Past scapegoats have been, blacks, Irish, Catholics, Chinese, American Indians, Mexicans, immigrants in general, Italians, Socialists, Muslims, etc, etc, etc...
