Is Coronavirus from the devil?

Culling benefits a population by removing certain parts of it.

While that's not good, the human response is. Euginical thinking is not good.

...For instance, it would not be positive if both my wife and myself died, and our young children were left without parents. Regardless of ideology.

What? Me worry?

Soooo....what's next? Some Youtube video of a "virus handlin'" redneck preacher in Eastern Kentucky?

Yersinia pestis. OK, a bacteria not a virus, but it caused enormous death and suffering all over the Mediterranean and Middle East in the 6th century (and beyond). The repercussions lasted for centuries in fact in many ways it radically changed the course of history.

Many tried to read meaning into the plague. Well that's an understatement; people read meaning into everything then. This was also called Justinian's plague and decimated his capital, Constantinople. Many in the church for example thought it punishment by God for Justinian's heresy (he was a monophysite Christian).

Didn't the plagues of the 14th century usher in the renaissance?

It's an ill wind that blows no man any good.

No. All things that exist are from God.

Satan has no power over the physical world itself, only power to distort our perceptions.
  1. Shame and guilt are from the devil. They are temptations that lead us away from the reality of grace. Satan is an accusing angel, nothing more.
  2. Arrogance is from the devil. It is a temptation that leads us to believe we don't have sins, or don't need God.
  3. Control is from the devil. It is a lack of control over one's own life, that leads people to believe they can impose upon others. It is a sickness of the spirit that causes one to move away from God's plan of harmony into such things as world government and world religion. Sorry Bahai, if God wanted us to all be the same, we would have been created as a race of twins.
  4. And fear is from the devil. It leads to the Delusion that God is not there, that God cannot help.
  5. Isolation is from the devil. It is not good for man to be alone. Not now, and not in Eden.
As you can see, none of these things are physical creations. Satan is not a "fallen angel" this is a Paradise Lost story, not the actual Bible. Satan is one of God's own angels, and his message is for us in order to temper our personalities and make us human.

The evil of Coronavirus is not its virulence nor its intensity. It is actually fairly mild. The evil is control, fear, isolation, and a feeling that God has left us. The sense of guilt, that we've somehow done something wrong, and this is why we are sick. And the feeling of distrust for other people.

We are challenged to remember that we are not Zoroastrians. Satan is not even remotely equal to God, that he is not a god but simply an angel. God is One. All things, good and evil, come from him.

I read it from I think @ChristineM. I trust her as being scientifically literate.

I can't remember if it was me but...

1 thanks for the trust

2 i assume you are talking viruses? Its a tricky question, viruses don't have the accepted requirements to count as life such as cells, the ability to create energy or protein, indipendent reproduction.
But they can be complex and although they can't create protein and energy they do absorb it from a host they have invaded and reproduce if they have a host cell.

It depends on your definition of life and I think the jury is still out on that
