The true root of faith is personal experience. As long as people have mystical experiences, faith will endure.

Are we seeing the death of faith??

Or

Is there still life in this philosophy??

hi,

this is the last sign of Apocalyps. when there was no one left who has faith on earth, world ends. as it was said by Prophet when gog and magog appear, they start killing believers. when they kill the last faithful person, time and kinetic energy in the universe stops and boom!

knowledge without faith is like a fast car without driver.

um. is this a guessing game or a debate?

You posted it in the debate section.

I feel that if we classify faith as simple belief than we kill it. I also think that people want faith to be grand but get distracted by the word and not it's intent. People say there is an attack on faith. But I feel that it is the believer that is undermining faith and not the skeptic.

And I just wanted to know if anyone else could see the savage beating faith is taking from the believer like I can.

I see it both ways. Faith is both dying and will endure. I know that sounds contradictory, but I feel like the attitude towards faith in general is a negative one, where faith is seen as an obstacle on the way to "progression" (whatever that is) and knowledge. This is increasing as time goes by.

It endures because there will always be faithfull people until the last day. There will always be people who believe in god, and are willing to practice upon those ideals.

Faith won't die - people want answers to questions that science cannot adequately explain, such as what our purpose in life is, what happens when we die, and so forth. Faith answers these questions in a way that is more comforting than hard science.

I haven't witnessed the "savage beating". Maybe you could point it out.

Are we supposed to be debating whether or not faith is under attack or whether it is dead or who is attacking faith?

When you see reality for what it is you no longer require faith to discern what reality might be.

Death to faith and the sooner, the better.

I say faith without knowledge is like a fast car without a driver. ;)

:D considering individual, yes! that's right, we gotto learn untill we die.
when it comes to others, faithful ones would try not to give harm to anyone. yet if one didnot have faith and he had knowledge, that is one dangerous car for people, my friend.

Faith seems to be intrinsic to human nature. If that's so, then it's not going to die out until human nature changes.

St. Augustine thought that faith was a prerequiste to knowledge. If you examine the precarious nature of knowledge itself and how it is continually in motion then this is logical. Faith can never really be extinguished in this sense, even within those who claim not to have any.

faith is a prerequisite for everything a mortal does.
