Is God's love conditional?

love

tri-polar optimist
I believe that the universe was purposely created where everything has an opposite so we could know where we stand. love/hate, hot/cold, up/down. Somewhere in the middle is where we are at. If there were no opposites things would just be. We would never change.
God's love never changes. But we find ourselves with another choice and when we choose hate we distance ourselves from God. The more love we have the closer we are to God.

There is no god, and certainly no sign of an external source of love. Looking at this world, I would say love is not it's hallmark.

Keep on saying that, one day you will believe it.

Gods love is conditional. It depends on how much you love him.

The manifestation of the reality of god loving you in your life, only becomes evident when you love him back. If you hate him, there is no way he can return the love since there is no love to return.

Everyone has the ability to love, but not everyone has the ability to love god. Clearly demonstrated by the loads of atheists and sceptics on this forum. It doesnt seem like people care much about this love of god.

The measure with which you love him is the measure with which he loves you back. Judgement is a demonstration of love. Justice is love, discipline is love, reaping what you sow is love. Giving you free will is love. Does god have affection for people full of pride, and lust and greed and malice? Some would say that god loves the person but hates what they do. At which point then, is what you do not who you are?

If gods love is unconditional, then why does he say, he resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. It seems conditional to me. God is not confused about who he loves and who he doesnt love. God loves his own. His own loves him. Do we expect god to keep on loving us when we reject him? Only if we are able to love him when he rejects us. If you can do that, he will still love you. The measure that you love him, is the measure with which he love you back.
