I have only seen one hanging. It was Sadaam Hussein in 2006, but I wasn't there in person. I couldn't afford the plane ticket to Iraq to be there to support him.
Still, I was hoping he would look really peaceful. He seemed quite calm and peaceful as they were putting the noose around his neck, but seeing his eyes bulge and the shocking look on his face when he dropped and hung, kinda bothered me.
People tell me that I'm really good at reading people, and in this particular case, my male intuition told me he may have been experiencing some discomfort in his neck and difficulty breathing.
I don't think America should have let that slide. I think people should be given some medicine that is designed to cause euphoric spiritual experiences, so that they hopefully make their peace with God and have a change of heart, then they be given a barbiturate to make them quickly doze off. Then they be given a lethal amount of whatever.
There are chemicals that I've seen can make a total jerk quite kind and compassionate. There are other chemicals that make people more spiritual. So surely, we can give people medication that will make them compassionate, spiritual, repentant, and have a change of heart, so that they have a better chance of getting to Heaven (If such a place exists).
To me, hanging looks like it's hard on the neck. It isn't like the people hanging are usually interviewed to find out how much pain they are in on a scale of 1-10. Sometimes it could be excruciating for all we know.
If things were to reach a point where no chemicals were available, I would prefer getting bludgeoned in the head repeatedly with a crowbar than hanging. Strong blows to the head don't hurt much because the lights sort of go out.
Let those evil people have pleasant final moments of life. Evil people are already tortured enough!
