Is it moral to teach children that there are talking snakes?

Maybe people need to be logical enough to tell the difference between literal and metaphor?

I dont believe God is man. That limits God to me.

Not at all.

No man is an island.

Would you prefer a more alien God?
We are animals.

The God of an ant is an ant.
The God of lions is a lion.
The God of man is a man.

Nature is consistent.

Thats true but He remembers He was a man.

God is every man. You are God. As am I. God is everywhere. He is everything.

Now that we got that out of the way, teaching kids there was a literal talking snake once upon a time, when they have such a loose context of reality, harms their mental growth.

Harm is immoral.

God is not every man. We are Gods in progress.
Why would God want to be everywhere? Too many stinky places around and He is not a voiyeur.
Why would He want to be a dumb ol;d rock or piece of shat.

We do pick up silly sayings don't we?

Funny you take the **** out the Pagan guy, saying we are gods in progress is even sillier. If god was not everywhere, then there would be no everywhere.

I don't think it is wrong to teach them about fables.

Fables are good. Myths are good. Just tell them is not real, but enjoy the stories. No harm done.

Oops just drank Him down with my coffee.
I hope He enjoyed the show my wife and I put on last night.
I am God so I guess we both did.

Hard to tell them it is a fable or myth and then turn around and tell them that the Bible is the WORD of God.

To turn the Bible into a fairy tale book is not what fundamentals are doing.

Confusing children they are.

Check the Jesus schools and tell us that children are to cry and haul for their fairy friends.

Well, whether you like it or not, people are going to tell their children things about their faith. They have that right. If I had a mind to, I could have taught my children that we are descendants of Martians and that we used to have green skin (not that I would) and there is nothing you could do about it. My children would find their own way soon enough. I am teaching them to think for themselves. And if they decide that our faith is right- then fine and if they don't- fine, it is their choice. No matter what, I will always love them.

People of faith teach their children faith, and people who have no faith teach their children non-faith. That is the way it is. It is not going to change.

Teaching is good. Lying is not.
IE; suicide bombers.

All the suicide bombers I have heard of were adults and/or teens, not by little kids.
But is something a lie if the parents truly believe it?

Do we want to have people and children believe in talking snakes?

NO.

Do we want suicide bombers believing in the 12 virgins are waiting for them in heaven?

No.

Is there a basic difference in either? No.
