Is Jesus the Son of God or God?

Ooooohok.....I get it now but maybe there's more to the story that we don't know and maybe they understood what Jesus was ACTUALLY trying to say cause I'm sure they meant that God is their father because he's the creater but Jesus meant that he actually is a part of God which would make sense of why they wanted to kill him.

Well, Jesus certainly was closer to God than they were.

As Jehovah's First-born, he had spent more time with his Father than anyone (John 17:5).

I just have one more question guys...... for those who don't believe Jesus is God, then do you believe Jesus is God's son? Like Hercules or a demigod or something like that?

Speaking for me (and all JW's...yes, believe it or not, I can do that), DEFINITELY! He is also our Savior, our King, our Leader...because God made him such!

Oh ok......So what would you say to someone that says this concept or this belief came from other ancient cultures or mythologies (Like Greek and Roman)? (Like I've heard ppl say before)

What concept? According to Jesus himself at John 17:5, he was alive before the world was made...what loving Father who is a king, doesn’t want and teach his son all he can and bestow rulership on him? IDK if that’s what you mean or not.

No that's not what I mean......
What I mean is that before Jesus came to this world, there were already many pagan beliefs in demi gods like in Greek, Roman, Egyptian and many other cultures and some people (nonbelievers) say that the concept of Jesus being God's son came from those others beliefs or myths... It's one of the many reasons why nonbelievers disbelieve so what would you say to those people?......
I personally, know Jesus is the alpha and the omega John 1:18, Revelation 1:17-18

I've been Christian all my life and have been on an endless journey to find truth when it comes to God our creater. Which lead me to reject the doctrine of the trinity because the idea of God being 3 "persons" in one is just ridiculous and its roots stem from paganism but now I'm questioning the relationship of God the creater and Jesus the messiah. I've always kinda believed that Jesus was both the son of God and God himself and in the bible, Jesus mentions more than once that he and the father are one but that the father is greater than he is so if he isn't God but the son of God then who was he in the beginning because he only became the son of God after Mary was impregnated but in the bible John 1:1-2 it says....
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning......
So is Jesus the manifestation of God's word in the flesh which still makes him God or is he the son of God (a separate being) or is he both at the same time.....Kinda like a clone of God in the form of flesh.....

Jesus has titles of God
Jesus is compared to the Ark (which is the presence of God in Psalm 68/Ephesians 4)
Prayers and praise meant for God in the Old testament (like Psalm 102) is applied to Jesus in the New Testament
In his humanity the emphasis is on Son and in his divinity the emphasis is on God
