Those thoughts are deep. Not many are able to think on that level. This awareness of observing of your surroundings is only a reminder of God, and our purpose in life. I don't see anything "freaky" in it, rather the contrary, reminding us of God and our purpose in life.
That those endowed with understanding may ponder its signs and so remember. (Quran 38:29)
