I'd say we're seeing evidence that it's failed in Europe.

However, good people and bad people come in all races and Religions. I'm trying to purge all bigoted sentiments from my heart. I've known some very good Muslims. I will face Mecca with them, pray, listen, and study the Koran with them.

I think you need to be careful conflating multiculturalism with Islam. You can think that Islam can't integrate, and still think multiculturalism on the whole is a positive thing.

Multiculturalism works fine as along as there is simliar values and virtues as well as mutual respect and tolerance between cultures. You couldn't expect a culture that embodies freedom and equality to mesh well with a culture that's repressive and bigoted.

Voted "Not Sure". Multi-Culturalism has had considerable benefits but has come with its share of religious and cultural tensions and a degree of socio-economic segregation of different communities. I don't think I could say either way.

Voted no. It wasn't an experiment. It's a basic tenet of human society. And it hasn't failed. It is what it is.

I voted yes but not as an experiment, its not working because there isn't intergration, what we have here in the UK are people who have emigrated here and created a replica of the dump they came from,a backward culture that has no intention of integrating with anyone.

This is not multiculturalism by any standard and already a problem not just in the UK but Europe too,the more we ignore it the worse it will get.

The problem is though,if you speak out about it your a bigot or racist for pointing out the problem, the time will come when it will not be words unfortunately.

Have western leaders been using their citizens as human Guinea Pigs in a massive cultural experiment that has failed with disastrous consequences?
Well, no.

But to address the other question of whether multiculturalism is a failed thing, it may well be. The "melting pot" of cultural diversity seems to lead to more and more discrimination every year.

This man talks a lot of sense.

That you, that was an interesting interview.

I think he misses the point, though, extending "multiculturalism" to people and labelling them "multiculturalist." The ideology is intended for societies, not individuals. The individual who does not believe in multiculturalism may be as much a part of the multiculturalist society as the one who does.

I missed the links to the idiot at large Pat Condell..

This thread was a waste of time.

Multiculturalism is not even an experiment........for ****'s sake. I doubt the intelligence of anyone who believes such garbage.

Jaiket got it right. It just is. If you don't understand that.......than you don't understand much of humanity and it's history.
