Skanky Old Mongrel!
Have western leaders been using their citizens as human Guinea Pigs in a massive cultural experiment that has failed with disastrous consequences?
Nah!
For instance the USA has about 50 differing cultures just from Europe, then you could add in the many hundreds from everywhere else to produce an interesting, varied and valuable country.

It's the same for use in the UK, but with a differing mixture, that's all.

Here in the UK our leaders welcomed one culture in preference to any other and called it Multiculturalism.

I presume they thought that that culture would integrate and accept western values but it has failed to do so.

Now we have a two-tier society with different rules for each.

The UK has sacrificed our future because of our guilt over our imperial past.

I don't think so.
You pick the last decade that you think held the best British Society, and we'll have a look at it with you.
Careful what you pick! :)

There has been quite a lot of social integration here. Go to your local Supermarket and just watch, or to a local nightclub and watch youth having its idea of a good time.
Watch people and see...........

But if you think that our values were any good, back in the day, I disagree with you.

Now we have a two-tier society with different rules for each.
60 years ago our society was utter rubbish, imo.
A multi-tier society of layers of secrecy and privilege.

The UK has sacrificed our future because of our guilt over our imperial past.
Talk to our kids and mention that. They'll just take a pace backwards from and mumble stuff like 'odd!' or 'Huh?'

Our kids won't agree with you. And our kids are taking this land where you (and I) cannot follow.

I think 1935 to 45 was the the best of our society,it was a time of turmoil, we had been through a general strike and punched well above our weight in a war but most importantly people and things changed, for women especially for the better,so that's mine.

Now why do you think that we had a General Strike?

We survived the early War because we are on an island, that and because of Hitler's extraordinary decsions at that time.

We survived because cultures, nationals, races, religions and foreigner from all over the World came to stand and defend beside us.

My Old Man fought beside Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs!

True they did and we should always be grateful for it.

Sushi and Mexican food are the best! We need more multiculturalism so we have more restaurants to choose from!

Sounds to me, you guys are still in the early stages. If I moved to where we are now in the 18 hundreds or early 19 hundreds, I would haver faced much racism.

Also, assimilation is not the same as multi-culturism. What you want is assimilation. So you should be suggesting how your assimilation has failed dramatically.

Is it part of the Islamic ideology to assimilate?

That's not your question in the OP. I don't know the Islamic ideology that well. I can tell you that i know several Muslims around my area that more or less behave like members of our community.

Seems to me you're only focusing Muslims. Do you know of any yourself? Do you have any first-hand experience?

If assimilation was part of Islamic ideology, multiculturalism might not be a failed experiment.

Educated western leaders like Tony Blair should have known or consulted with experts that knew this was the case before conducting the experiment. Failing that it would have been nice if they had asked for our opinion before proceeding, instead of calling us nasty names if we objected.
