Both Bushes raised it. Did you vote for them? Since 2007, it has been increasing every year .70 cents. There hasn't been an increase since 2009. If you were to continue the trend of adding .70 cents per year, we'd be over $10 today.

I just don't feel anyone who works a full time job should live in poverty. Kinda explains why people need additional assistance from the gov't. Increasing the minimum wage means less people on gov't assistance and a boost in economy.

I clearly remember thinking back then if I could make 100 dollars a week I would be making 2.50 an hour and might be able to make it.

A year or two later I found a job in a factory making 3.35 an hour and could call it gainful employment.

People wonder why there are no good jobs, before Obama got reelected, I ran a business that paid people well. I retired.

You cannot over regulate business and expect them to stick around.

What this country needs is more smoke stacks, that is a sign of a booming economy.

Shutting down coal powered electrical generators, the green folks won't be able to pay their utility bills on minimum wage jobs no matter how high you raise it

That doesn't sound very empirical to me. Romney's idea of economic growth was buying factories, laying everyone off and liquidating the assets for personal profit. And Bush, who basically was exactly the same as you and Romney in his irrational faith in the oil industry to single handedly save America, brought the whole country - the world, even - to its knees by presiding over the biggest economic crash since the 30s and squandering all your country's wealth on foreign adventurism.

I honestly can't understand why Americans keep voting for these people, but if you actually what you've just written in spite of so much evidence to the contrary... I don't know.

The idea that minimum wage jobs were for only for teens stopped being reality a couple decades ago. And it is not coming back any time in the foreseeable future.
