Satan is most likely a fictional or mythical being, likely the fallen god of a past religion.

However, based on the bible, Satan is smarter than most humans and smarter than Jesus whom some worship as a god.

Satan took Jesus up on a high mountain and showed him all of the nations of the world. Since from any mountain in the Middle East one cannot see the Andes or Meso-American civilizations. They could not see the Polynesian civilizations, the Australian, or the mysterious people of Tierra del Fuego.

The World is and was always a bloody sphere. Based on the Gospels, neither Satan or Jesus knew the Earth was a sphere. So Satan may have been smarter than George W. Bush and most of the Popes because they believed in the Genesis Myth. But Satan and Jesus were not as smart as Copernicus, Magellan, Columbus, Darwin, Lyell, Einstein, Bohr, Steven Weinberg, Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Richard Dawkins, or Stephen Hawking.

I noticed that in school when we were reading Bible stories in grade 4. The teacher could not answer my question.

Ok, I know that there are thousands of different Christian denomination, but they all have some place the devil hold in there great sky musical. So if this does not attack your specific religious dogma I am sorry, just state your dogma and I will get to it in time.

Ok much of what Christians cant explain they call it a “mystery” I like to call it magic but they get all torn up over it.

All I know is it takes smarts, magick, or somegthing else to be able to get down all those chimneys in just one night. I suspect he had something to do with the designation of different time zones. If starts in the east and works west it will give him a few extra hours of night by the time he is done.

Satan according to the Gospel myth takes Jesus up on a high mountain. There he looks out over the land and tells Jesus he will give him all of those nations before him. So either Satan was ignorant of the Earth as a Globe or he believed Jesus was even dumber. One cannot see the other hemisphere of the Earth from any mountain on Earth (not even Everest.)

Maybe Satan believed like Isiah and others that the world was flat perhaps a disc supported on four large pillars. The Four pillars also imply a flat undersurface to the Earth. So the questions are:

!. Was Satan ignorant and believed he was offering nations all over the (spherical Earth).

2. Or was Satan smart, knowing the Earth's spherical shape and Heliocentric Solar System. His offer was a test to see if Jesus knew about the spherical Earth and Heliocentric Solar System.

Of course it is just a myth anyway. But in the myth theme, either Satan or Jesus was ignorant (especially if either of them actually created the Earth.)

Jesus was apparently ignorant of certain facts. He thought sin caused leprosy. He also assumed people suffering fits, seizure like movements, and crazy behaviour to be demon possessed. As creator he should have known that most of the events with altered consciousness and motor movements were likely epileptic phenomena and the others were likely psychotic illness or a few smoking mushrooms or weeds. Jesus thought blindness was also from sin, and treated it with his own spit. This led to the expression in East London of "Here's spit in your eye."

The Jewish God was both good and evil. There was no Satan in the Garden of Eden. It was a serpent, a walking and talking serpent. That was silly but Satan did not appear in Jewish belief until after the Persian conquest of Babylon and befriending the Jews by letting them return to Palestine. Zoroastrianism has a Dualistic God system. The Good God of Light is Ahura Mazda or Ormuzd. The Evil God of Darkness is Ahriman or Aingra Maingu. The Zoroastrian Evil God of Darkness became absorbed by the Jews so that they could explain bad things with a "devil" God and not their Good God JHWY.

However, in the early parts of the Satan does no evil. He was not mentioned until inserted later in the Book of Job. Moses who wrote the Genesis Myths did not know of a Satan or Devil. The Dark God was adopted by Judaism sometime after 600 BC. You notice after that time, JHWY no longer goes on Killing sprees, genocides and commanding Israelites to take towns and murder the inhabitance.

Christians in deifying Jesus raised him from a subordinate God (St. Paul's view and Arianism) to a high god. They did that with magically making Jesus to be JHWY and added a third member from Persia Spenta Maingu (Holy Spirit.)

Like Zoroastrianism this introduced an Indo-European Dualistic deity. The Zoroastrian God of Light fights the God of Darkness in the end times. Similarly, Christianity adopted their God Jesus to fight the Dark God Satan in the end times Armageddon. Constantin pushed the unification of Trinitarian Christianity with Mithraism and Sol Invictus to unify the Empire. St. Paul's Arian Christianity was exiled to Persia and the German Kingdoms to the north of the Empire.

Personal understanding of of Satan or *DARKNESS* has always been there and *LIGHT* is brought in to dispel darkness. Here Light never can see darkness though darkness is always conscious of light.

Reality is that BOTH this DARKNESS & LIGHT together makes the WHOLE / TAO / etc.

As a Canadian I remember watching the US elections in awe and disbelief, and seriously questioned my own perception of reality as the results were announced. I was in shock as were many of my family and friends. I was affected by it for some time.

But what gave me back much faith in humanity was being in Germany when Obama won... it will be one of those things I'll always remember... like where I was when 9/11 happened.

The full color newspaper headlines... the coverage on every news channel... the tears of joy and celebrations in the streets (it was like Germany won the World Cup)... I've never seen anything like it.

This is where Satan works his best, in deceiving mankind. Satan knows scripture better than man and he will use it in a way to deceive man. Satan is not a person. He is a metaphor. Satan was supposedly smart. Yet he rebelled against the most powerful, cruel, and vindictive tyrant in the Universe. Yet if Satan believed the scriptures he was destined to lose the final war. Why does he fight on against horrible odds?

I think Satan is the ultimate tragic hero. He fights for human right to think, to question, and to inquire. He fights to loosen the chains of superstition on the human mind, and the shackles of ignorance that keeps us oppressed. He is not real but he is the image of our tragic hero.

Satan or Lucifer is the tragic hero who fights despite knowing he faces defeat. He is like Davey Crockett at the Alamo. He is like Constantine Palaeologos XI the last emperor of Byzantium. He personally led his 7000 defenders of Constantinople against 500,000 Muslim Turks. He lost in 1453 and was seen by Turkish observers to die with his sword swinging and surrounded by six Turks. Even the Turkish Sultan admired him.

My other favourite tragic hero is Leonidas who led 300 Spartan Hoplites holding off a Persian Army at the pass of Thermopylae. All Spartans including Leonidas died fighting an Army claimed to be one million Persians.

I admire people who fight for what is right despite the poor chance of winning. Satan is similar even though he is mythical. He combines all of the heroic qualities of Davey, Constantine XI, and Leonidas who were real life heroes.

If you note in your own scriptures it is God who does all of the evil (setting a sting trap for Adam and Eve.) God also brought the plagues to Egypt killing untold thousands. God had 3000 fellow Jews slain for making a golden calf. God caused the volcanic upheaval along the Jordan Transform Fault/rift destroying Sodom and Gomorrah because some humans sinned. God killed men, women, children, babies, pregnant women and all non-human animals in the Flood and Sodom-Gomorrah.

What evil did Satan do according to your Bible? He tormented Job but that was at the instigation of God.

Poor Satan gets all of the condemnation of skip-dancing shouting, chanting, dancing Televangelists. They never take God to task for putting a tree of Knowledge in the Garden, making it tempting for Adam and Eve to learn knowledge, before man and woman knew right from wrong. That was called a sting operation. Having Israelite Storm Troopers pillage Canaanite cities killing men, women, children, and babies as well as taking virgin girls as sex slaves. This is the so-called good God. Satan did almost nothing wrong in the Bible.

So how come Satan is not to be loved but God who I would fear as a cosmic sadistic killer. How come we are told to love God? Isn't the point that we are expected to fear God and submit abjectly to God's appointed War Lords without opposition. Only God, not Satan, condemns people to burn in Hell forever.

Think! If you could have the power to choose or design your own god, would you really choose JHWY-Jesus. Step outside of your Scriptural Meme programming and think about it.
