Well if a religion is the true religion, how is it arrogant to deem it higher and above false religions?

You can not possibly know that. God knows. Your knowledge is hearsay, and lacks Omniscience, which is a requirement to make such a bold claim. Besides all that, it's plain blasphemy; sitting on God's throne
Beside, Religion is a Path, not the end Goal
That is just not a nice thing to do. Focus on what you're good at, not trying to find fault in what others believe
Some hints to make it easier to see this:
Easy to see, IF one is "not arrogant", as arrogance proverbial is known to blind one, which obviously obstructs seeing right (good enough reason to avoid the path of arrogance)
You belittling all other (non) Faiths:
a) trampling their 'soul'
b) God created all ... you belittle God
c) All major Religions have Love at their core
d) Baseless claim; only God is Omniscient
Also,
Jesus taught "Thou shall not judge others, lest.."
Koran teaches to be careful killing others:
* physically .. e.g. by sword !
How about:
* emotionally ... e.g. by word ?
* mentally ... e.g. by thought ?
Koran teaches:
For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth.

If we cannot know a religion is the truth, it would be arrogant to claim it's superior I agree. However, if we can know through proofs that is superior, there is nothing arrogant to seeing the true religion and God's religion as higher above false religions.
Not everything is about being nice. Sometimes you have to be the dark knight no one likes. Quran could've been written in a way that just focuses on the truth without comparing it to falsehoods and false religions. But it took a comparative stance, because that dialogue has to occur. People will all remain in their familiar zone unless you poke them a bit and show where they are in the wrong. Islam takes an approach to show the true path to believers but also show where all other paths are false. Whether it's nice or mean, doesn't matter, it's the right thing to do on part of God to guide people through the disputes and difference.

Well, for a Muslim, when the Qur'an says "people wrote scripture and attributed them to God", that's good enough evidence because they believe it's God's word.
If they take a methodological approach of naturalism, they could refer to Bible scholarship.
Do you know does the Quran say Bible is corrupt?

The Qur'an never mentions the Bible.
