"County officials released a report on Sunday explaining the dysfunction that occurred on Election Day, when 71 out of the county’s 223 polling centers had problems with printer ink that was too light for scanning ballots.

Maricopa officials have said that an estimated 17,000 voters were affected by the problem but that it was quickly addressed."

Chinese paper? Chinese ink? This sounds like a job for . . . .Cyber Ninjas!!

Parties don't have morals. People do. Whilst I might think one party or the other has more 'moral' people, there are a few basic considerations;

1) no party is made up of entirely moral people.
2) no party is made up of entirely immoral people.
3) what I see as moral is not what others see as moral, so I need to be clear when judging morality if it's by my measure, or by theirs.

So I answered no.

Well that's an immoral answer:p

Actually it is a very good one. It is very hard for a party to be more moral than its leadership.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
A couple of days ago, Donald Trump hosted anti-Semitic and racists Nick Fuentes and Kanye (Ye) West at dinner. Only a couple of Republicans have expressed any negative feelings about a exPOTUS doing such a thing.

In Arizona, today is the last day to certify that last election. Not all Arizona counties are willing to do this -- those who think Republicans should have won -- NO MATTER WHAT THE VOTERS THOUGHT.

Republicans are trying to make it harder for certain minorities (you know, the ones that don't consistently vote Repulican) to vote.

It's endless. It never stops. I can only think that the party that believes itself to be the religious heart of America has simply suffered a total moral collapse -- I suspect because morals are more expendable than power.

I await your vote, and your reasons.
I don't see any party at the mythological moral high ground.

Plus Trump is not president anymore. ...again..

At best he's now the right wing version of the late Lyndon LaRouche with a bunch of political groupies that swoon over the man.

Organizations exist for a reason. They are created to do something. They often have “mission statement”. And if there is no official written mission statement there still must be some kind of tacit agreement concerning what the organization is for,

And organization that exists to oppress minorities, to oppress the poor and keep people in poverty and to end democracy and impose minority rule, that is an evil organization.

I think that is clear.

Yet I don't think that's their "outward" mission statement, even if it happens to sometimes be the end result. I think their mission statement can be better summed up as:

Keeping things mostly the same, or to a certain "roots" (conservatives sometimes seem to think fondly of the past)

Limiting the size of government (possibly)

Making sure religious freedom isn't threatened

Etc.

Do I agree with their goals or how they go about things? Not that much. But to be detailed enough to talk about mission statements, then write that their goal is only to "oppress minorities etc" at the last, seems a far fetch.

Don't get me wrong, it can be what comes of their actions. But I don't think most go around thinking "I think I'll end democracy today."

But that is the point I am trying to make. It doesn’t matter if all, or most go around thinking “I think I’ll end democracy today”, because that is what the organization, the party, is doing.

For example, this guy who just had a meeting with Donald Trump (still the head of the Republican Party). And he has also has connections with Marjorie Taylor Greene and a few other Republican Congresspeople.

Look at 5:10 to 6:00

(The whole thing is interesting, but I realize a little long)

I voted that they never had a moral center. I don't think political parties actually have a moral center, per se. There might still be moral people within the parties, but even that can be conditional.

I see what you might be getting at, but addressing the "moral center" may be barking up the wrong tree. Both parties have tried to play that game, portraying themselves as "moral" while claiming the other is immoral. No doubt there are many who believe that they're moral while the other side is evil.

I think individuals can be moral or immoral, but if we're talking about collective morality of an organization like a political party (or a government, religion, or business, for that matter), then it gets into murky territory. Their morality tends to be based upon and subject to whatever is good for the organization, whatever that may be.

I don't think you'll find that is the mission statement of the GOP, for all that I don't like them.

I presume that the <yes> votes are by posters
who see different moral values as "moral collapse",
eg, anti-abortion.
This differs from viewing more widely agreed
immorality of some of Trump's acts, eg, revenge
against people he sees as political foes.
They have largely and mostly not called out the crap of the election fraud lies and insurrection. That is a moral collapse and failure.
