I believe my religion(Christianity) is the one true religion that leads to eternal salvation...

However, I believe that God saves whom He will...

I believe all religions are equally correct, and are all part of the same truth that people, in general, don't give a crap about truth at all.

Thief here....will it be needful to call out the differences between faith...belief...religion....theology...etc?
How about...
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Without this axiom...you have nothing going on.

I consider Catholic Christianity to be the one true faith. To say that other religions lead to eternal life is not, in my opinion, doctrinally correct. Insofar as other religions are consonant with the Truth which is definitively revealed in Christ and entrusted to the mission of the Church, these other faiths may indeed assist people towards eternal life- but not per se, only through Christ.

What if you're a Masochist?

Should you still "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?"

Cute...very cute...
Let's run with that.
Let's pretend I might be one of those 'servants', sent to have a look around.
I bump into someone, and because of something said, he pops me in the face.

Later...when I return to my 'brothers'...They ask of me...
'Alright...who did THAT to your cheek?'

That guy will be received...when he shows up....in the same way he received me...as many times as I have 'brothers'.

"Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.".....
Is in truth....fair warning.
It WILL be done unto you...as you did unto others.
The angels wait patiently for you to show up.

Which of these statements comes closer to your opinion?

1) My religion is the one, true faith leading to eternal life.
2) Many religions can lead to eternal life.

The Pew Forum asked that question, and got the following results:

Jehovah's Witnesses: 80% said (1); 16% said (2)
Mormons: 57% said (1); 39% said (2)

Muslims: 33% said (1); 56% said (2)
Orthodox: 20% said (1); 72% said (2)
Catholics: 16% said (1); 79% said (2)

As a Christian I can answer in the affirmative because it is what Jesus is offering and I have not seen any one else offering the same thing.

However the JW's probably interpret this to mean their particular view of religion which is often obscured from reality by the false reasoning of men. So there is no way to assess whether they have a reasonbly good understanding of eternal life and how to obtain it unless there is someone who knows whee they stand. I don't bother listening to what they say because it is a waste of time.

The same goes for the Mormons as the JW's They are probably thinking of their religion more than they are thinking about eternal life.

I don't believe that Roman Catholics have a correct understanding of how to obtain etrnal life either although there may be individual adherents who have attained to it.

I would consider myself an evangelical and find it perplexing that the percentage is not higher.

I choose the first option. Allah says:

And whoever seeks religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers
(3:85)

There may be exception to this but this is the general rule and Allah knows best.

Anyone can be Islamic in the true sense of the word but Muslims never attain it and there is no mention of eternal life being offered in this verse.

Well, i think that God doesn't really care about your religion. He looks at your heart, and sees who you are and what you did. therefore, i think that many good religions can lead to heaven. However, i do think that God wants people to follow closely as He can to them. in my case, i believe this is the RCatholic faith. So, i think God started His whole religion thing to let people know Him better, so that they could have a better life on earth. Peace!

Yeah, I liked that, too. It's worth noting, though, that apart from Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons, those who thought their religion was the one, true faith were a minority in all groups. It surprised me.
