Islamic Music -- DIR Forum

Well, I didn't like the idea that these singers like Wael Jassar who make clips with dancing girls who have little cloth on them, to record songs about the love of the prophet etc. How signing about the love of the prophet and at the same time you do the exact opposite of what he says and share in tempting Muslims away from his path!!! I thought he had no credibility. But then I listened to most of the songs of the Album and I actually liked them. I believe the idea of the Album is new. And his voice is very sweet and it touched me. I gave my skeptic view towards such effort another thought. I don't have to judge them because mainly we all make mistakes, we all deviate from God and the prophet's path at some point, still we are Muslims who love God and His prophet. True there are shortcomings but it doesn't stop us from praying upon the prophet when we hear his name for instance. Thus no matter what such singers do, they are Muslims at the end.

Would you believe me if I told you that I never knew or heard of Wail Jassar till I heard recently about his album about the love of the Prophet. I saw Amr Khaled writing about this album in his website and then I googled the name of Wael Jassar and even when I saw his pic I didn't recognize him. When I asked colleagues at work , they told me that he is very known...
Who knows sister, may be by making the first album about our beloved Prophet and singing about him, his life would change for the better and that album will be a turning point in his life... we never know and we should never judge any body. Since he is a Muslim, we never know what his life will be later on... we have seen many actors, singers who repented and walked on the right path.
I don't watch video clips and I don't listen to music other than the Islamic music, that's why I don't know who is Jassar. May Allah guide him to the right path and guide us all.

Still, I think we should get over the words and poems phase to the actions phase. How many songs are about the prophet and our love to him, yet we actually don't do much in reality.

True! the action phase is the most important phase. And we will never change until words turn into action. May our dear Allah be pleased with us and guide us to the right path, ameen!

Al-Aqsa Is In My Heart.
I love that song by Mashari Rashid (in fact I love all of his songs\anasheed), but this one is really amazing, it is about Egypt, its islamic status, and Sheikh Mashari's impression about it.....What I like most is the youtube video, as there are hundreds of worshippers performing the Taraweeh prayer last Ramadan in the streets of Alexandia!

This was so emotional...I liked the nasheed much but the views of the taraweeh with all these people praying on the pavements, the coast roads and inside the coffee shop is very emotional and touches the heart deeply...why...why is our status like this and there are Muslims who pray and cry in front of God...what is missing?

You know what I keep watching it and I thank God so much...there are still good Muslims. Thank you Mennah so much for this video that revived hope in me again. Alhamdulillah...

Indeed, Sahar. Amazing video!
I wish we would reach that level of faith!

It makes me feel sick. :(

YouTube - Sami Yusuf - Hear Your Call (Official Video)

Don't despair, don't lose hope
Hold on to that rope
Don't let go, don't let go
I hear your call

Though you feel so cold
Abandoned and alone
But don't let go, don't let go
I hear your call

Give me your hand my brother
I will not let you go
Please don't look back my sister
I swear I hear you call
Give me your hand my brother
I will not let you fall
Please don't look back my sister
Cause I swear I hear your call

Little boy ask away
"Where are the streets I used play to?"

But don't let go, don't let go
I hear your call

Don't you know we're One
When you hurt I hurt
Don't let go, don't let go
I hear your call...

You know our status would be different if that great number of Muslims were praying al-Fajr for instance...The problem is in continuity, we do many wonderful things in Ramadan, but we cease after it!

You know what I keep watching it and I thank God so much...there are still good Muslims. Thank you Mennah so much for this video that revived hope in me again. Alhamdulillah...
Of course there are good Muslims alhamdulillah, we should have hope in the coming great change and victory of the Ummah!

Thank you dear Sajdah for Sharing the beautiful song and the wonderful video of people praying! I heard the song already on Alafasy Satellite Channel, which is one of my favorite satellite channels, and I liked so much. I believe this is his first time singing in Egyptian dialect :)
And yes ,the video touches the heart!!! If only we have those number of people praying all their prayers on time and in the masjid and also awake during the night to pray Al fajr in the mosque. When we reach that degree of iman , surely our Ummah will revive!
