We do study Seerah so as to know the biography of our beloved Prophet peace be upon him (his birth, his parents, his lineage, hisi tribe and people who lived around him and the events that took place before his birth, during his life and at his death). We do study seerah so as to learn from our Prophet's life since his whole life is replete with lessons and thus we can follow in his footsteps.

Peace
Masha Allah, very good answers but there is more to it, think about it and give me more please.

More specific. But Masha Allah on the straight path.

In the Arabic language the word seerah comes from saara yasiru or yaseru which means linguistically to travel or to be on a journey. When we’re talking about someone’s seerah we’re talking about that person’s journey through life. You are talking about the person’s birth, the events surrounding it, his life and his death, and you are also studying the manners and characteristics of that person.
In Shari`ah (Islamic sciences) seerah means the study of the life of the Prophet Mohammed salla lahu `alayhi wa sallam, the last and final prophet and the messenger of Allah. It is the study of his life and all that is related to him. The information related to him would be like the events and aspects surrounding his biography. This would include knowledge of events that preceded his birth, his interactions and dealings with his companions, his family, the people around him, and also the events that occurred shortly after his death.
Masha Allah may Allah reward you for all the answers you gave. :D:D:D:D

  • Also we do study seerah because our dear Prophet salla Lahu `alayhi wa sallam is a real ideal example to us. We do study it to know his manners, his behaviors, how he used to eat, how he used to drink, to sleep... how he used to deal with his wives, with his companions, with his children, how he used to deal with his Creator and with people in general. how he used to deal with his enenmies, and how he used to call people to Islam and how he used to deal with every situation.
  • We do also study seerah to know how the Islamic rules that we do find in the Quran and the Hadith are applied in everyday life.
  • Studying the Seerah also helps us to understand Islam and the morals of Islam and the rules of Islam.
Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is a real teacher to us whose life is an open book full of lessons that can teach us how to attain success and happiness both in this life and the hereafter.
Reading his great seerah strenghtens and increase our love for him.
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon our beloved!!!

  • and this benefits someone how and what is the evidence that we should do this. Give 2 examples but three would be better.

[*]Studying the Seerah also helps us to understand Islam and the morals of Islam and the rules of Islam.]/quote] Thats the one I was looking for.

Alhumdulillah, :D:D:D

And to reiterate and to add to what Peace said.

We study seerah to know how to follow the Messenger pbuh, what it requires from us to please Allah. because we get that love that attachment of Allah from following the Messenger pbuh.

Achieving the love of Allah which can't happen without following and knowing His Messenger and we can't follow him without knowing his life and how he interpreted the Quran.

It also as you said give us the Islamic rulings concerning issues, and how and what muslims are to respond and do. for remember Quran was revealed over the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah pbuh and we need his seerah to give the correct tafsir for the seerah is part of the context. The Life of the Messenger is the interpretation of the Quran, and finally the seerah assures the believer in his heart. It shows us the Mercy, the Power, The Infinite Wisdom and Compassion of Allah swta upon us as muslims. It affirms us and assures us that he is the Messenger of Allah.

Masha Allah, Peace I am thankful and grateful for you answers may Allah guide us and make it easy on you and me and the rest of the Ummah, Ameen.

Asalamu alaikum

Assalaam Aliykom:

As I know that Adam pbuh, was for sure the first believer of Allah, the first prophet. but I do remember hearing that Ibrahim pbuh was the first Muslim. Am not sure.

I'll be back to confirm en sha' Allah.
You had it right the first time, Adam alaihis salam was the first muslim. The first one, he submitted remember. He and his wife praised Allah for all the blessings he gave them. and they seeked repentance when they made an error.

He established prayer and was the first Nabi.

Why were Messengers sent to mankind?

Messengers were sent to Mankind to call people to worship Allah alone and not to ascribe partners with Him. All the Messengers preached (Tawhid) Monotheism which is the pure belief in the oneness of Allah.

"And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): Worship Allâh (Alone) and avoid (or keep away from) Tâghût (all false deities etc. i.e. do not worship Tâghûts besides Allâh)." (Quran, 16:36).
