Israel-Gaza and fake news ...

That is an remarkably ignorant and slanderous ad hominem which has been reported.
If we may freely speak of racist Christians (a regular occurrance)
without being called "Racist!", why is it wrong to criticize racist
(if one accepts the broader usage of the word) Jews?
Being Jewish doesn't relieve one of all the human failings that
afflict people of other beliefs & non-beliefs. Moreover, putting
Jews on a pedestal, & treating them as saintly would be racist
too (in the same sense).
The problem here is what God's Chosen People in the Jewish
State are perpetrating, & the popular vitriol directed at Arabs,
Muslims, & Palestinians.

Israeli isn't a race.
Jew isn't a race.
Israel is indeed a country where news is
suppressed, & pro-Zionist propaganda thrives.
And it seeks to export this corruption to USA.
The OP merely offers further evidence.
Israel has freedom of the press. It is protected in the Basic Laws of Israel. The press in Israel is free to criticize the government, as evidenced by the article in the OP. Freedom House describes Israel as having the freest press in the region and generally free. Reporters without Borders ranked Israel in the 80s and 90s out of 180 countries in its Press Freedom Index. Meanwhile "Palestine" ranked 156 in 2023 and a profound 170 out of 180 countries on the list. Making "Palestine" one of the worst for freedom of the press.

What freedom of press that does exist is
corrupted by anti-Palestinian pro-Israel agenda.
With governmental suppression.

Quoting a thoroughly biased source such as CNN is a reverse barometer with respect to freedom of the press. It actually is more evidence that Israel has freedom of the press but just contradicts CNN's propaganda. This very thread has evidence of Israel allowing freedom of the press. You have provided no evidence of freedom of the press in "Palestine". Nor can you. The pro-Palestinian crowd are supporting the side without freedom of the press.

Calling CNN biased shows your boss actually. CNN leans left and has pro-US bias (expected) but it's score very high on factuality...though BBC is obviously still the best.

We Never Know

Right wing nationalism, Theocratic Extremism and Left Wing Totalitarian autocracies are symbiotic of each other. Each point to each other to justify their monstrous conducts. But they are fundamentally the same, seeking power and suppressing individual liberty under the garb of some or other greater cause. Thus they are not three, but one single form of evil that has blighted human history. You do not pick a side between a lion and a crocodile intent on eating you. You shoot both.

"You do not pick a side between a lion and a crocodile intent on eating you. You shoot both"

Make a decorative rug out of one and boots out of the other.

Lion skin boots and crocodile rug :p:p

From today's Haaretz:
We need better nonrepudiation methods for digitally released media. 'Nonrepudiation' is a networking term, and it means that you can not deny that something comes from you. Its possible to implement this for media using current tech.

When somebody reports something and is willing to put their reputation behind it, then there should be a way for them to opt in to a verification system which registers it to them. Its like signing your name attesting that this media comes from yourself or from your company. This would be a system which would attach that media to their reputation. If the media were altered then its signature would fail.

At the moment the way to check media is to find the original source, then view both media pieces to see if there are differences. This is slow, while rumors travel quickly.

It would work using already established cryptographic signing. If this system was in place then for groups like FakeReport or Snopes it would be much easier to check which media was legitimate and which they needed to spend more time on. Also we could have web apps that tossed out media which was not where it claimed to be from. It would be similar to our current https only web browsers conceptually.

It can be used to trace and target people by authoritarian regimes.....

The whole idea is to be traceable, however under an authoritarian regime you'd either not sign media or would prearrange non-public means to check the signature. You might (for example) distribute your public keys to friends only on CD's. Then you'd float your media on the network, and only your friends could verify for themselves if it were legitimately from you using the public keys you had handed them in person. If the government were interested in you it could try to float fake media in your name, but they couldn't imitate your media signature. Therefore your friends could see that the signatures had failed to verify the media and could suspect the fake media.

Israeli's are the Fake News Kings

This is a cartoonishly racist statement
I didn't take it as being "racist" at all
AND
With a title like this

Israel-Gaza and fake news ...

Such a reply can be expected
(Kind of scoring in open goal)

IF the reply would have been
"Russians are the Fake News Kings"
No one would pull the "racist card"

Talking about racism

This is a cartoonishly racist statement.
USA is "Nuclear King"
IF you don't want the title
THEN don't produce the nukes

At least don't cry when you are named after it

Israel's "Fake News King" Title, all the same
It's a fact some Israelis spread Fake News

Pulling the "racist card" is so lame
Own up to your own actions
Being Fake News spreaders
Or stop spreading it all together
Don't play the "poor me card"
Abusing the "racism" term

Ya ya .. They the racist ones .. blaming all Jews for what Bibi did in Gaza .. IDF and what they do is not all Jews .. .. so when one calls out the IDF for atrocity .. and they cry out "Cartoon Racist" .. they projecting .. as IDF ain't about Jews but the associating the two .. so they being the racist see :) Same with their support for collective punishment .. Just like blaming all Jews for what Bibi did. Collective punishment blaming all Palestinians for what a few rogue Hamas freedom fighters did .. exterminating 15,000 children .. who have nothing to do with Hamas for the crimes of Hamas .. because they are dirty Arabs ... which is what Bibi say when he talk about Cleansing the Land .. "From the River to the Sea - Israeli Sovereignty"

These ones are the xenophobic ethnic cleansers .. racist to the core .. some are even saying "Genocidal" but what else do you call what was done to the Amalek ? Bibi's words .. not mine ... freaken genocidal racist .. by his own admission

Is why the Irish delegation at the UN said "The Hague is too good for Bibi"

My Master used to say "Tell me your company, I tell you who you are".

So naturally IF you (people) choose a president or King, and then the He starts killing, then you can't just blame Him.

Those who chose the President are as guilty.

And you don't become a President having the minority of votes, so to say "the Israeli are doing this" is quite (50+%) accurate.

Hence the old adage "He who sees injustice and does nothing, is as guilty"

This proves the danger of censorship

People no longer value Essential liberty - Where did privacy go and who cares ... and how did it get taken away without consent or even dicussion.

No one gives a rat about free speech . and 9 of 10 don't know what it is for that matter .. 12 years of school and we fail to teach the fouding principle .. basic civics .. constitutional republic .. legitimacy of authority .. and things like ..without fair and free press, media, information there is absolutely no such thing as a functional democratic process .. Can lead such an ignorant herd anywhere you like not learning the basics of Philosophy .. Logic, logical fallacy, what constitutes a valid argument .. critical thinking through 12 years ..

Without these basic tools .. how does average Joe wade through the cacophony of fallacy and bad argument raining down on a daily basis from Politicians .. and mainstream media. Manipulation of the masses .. "Engineering consent" used to be quite an artform but has now progressed into a science . Covid a massively successful experiment conducted by the multi national "Public Relations" industry ..

"Public Relations" = the rebranding of Propaganda .. that name became negative after Hitlers use of the it .. and very successful use at that . We have come a long way sunshine !! .. isn't that what they say .. and of course Israel learned many of the propaganda lessons .. and was a very good student as we have seen .. in their very skilled use of "Public Relations"
