It’s Time For The Catholic Church to Lead The Way

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Well, I probably wouldn't be Catholic today if it wasn't for Vatican 2 and doing away with the Latin Mass. I have attended numerous ones of them and do not care for them. I want to understand what's being said, and I personally think it's beautiful.

That being said, I do like that we have numerous masses to choose from. We can find the one that suits us best. I have. My daughter attends the Latin Mass (most of the people who love the Latin Mass seem to be younger in my parish) and I want her to be able to do so.

Also, I think it would be in the churches best interest to change in light of people like Dawkins that are trying to pull people away from religion.

Another thing catholic preachers do all the time is call other religions false. The reason they do this I think so much is because they’re so bothered by the fact that they can’t really speak the truth so that’s their way of venting. It makes them feel better when they point out other religions are false because they know deep down that their own religion is false. They’re always looking for ways to feel better. It’s kind of pathetic really.

I think people could do without all the fluff. I mean, they think a dead man is going to return so why not take it another step and say the dead man is already here.
That wouldn't settle anything, and it wouldn't change how the world worked either.

Suppose you could do miracles using a secret technology that only you had: a programmable canister of super self reproducing nanites. You could raise the dead, make appliances, houses, flying cars, walk through walls or make yourself levitate and shoot lightning from your fingertips. What really would change about this world and the people in it? Not much. It would be all about you. You alone. Jesus is not all about Jesus.

WHen all of existence ends when a certain man dies, that qualifies as changing the world and the people in it

So you think they believe that Jesus is seating at the right hand of God in heaven? I think their beliefs go much deeper even if they’re unwilling to admit it. No one wants to be called a nut. That’s why if the church leads the way it won’t be so bad. There’s protection in numbers. A lot of people think Christians are nutty anyway. Haha so why not take the next step?
Then shall the Lord say to those seated on his right hand,
Get off my right hand.

I don’t know if you’re being nice because you think my beliefs are healthy or because you’re glad I’m not a Christian. Haha
I think your beliefs are genuine. They're your own, and you came to them through your own reasoning.

I have no problem with Christians. If they arrive to their beliefs through their own reasoning, I support that, too.

Do you support Christians who didn’t arrive at their own belief through their own reasoning? Lol

I would probably remain silent on the issue.

It isn't my place to say.

But, if folks are just going through some motion because they're 'supposed to', and they wanted my opinion, I'd tell them they need to investigate for themselves, not merely accept what's been handed to them thoughtlessly.

I hear ya and I agree however I do think Christianity does genuinely want people to read between the lines and see the real truth. The truth that I see. I think they should come out with it and claim Christ is literally on earth. Why not? We only live once. Why not stir things up a bit? Organized religions worldwide have gotten stale in some ways. It’ll never happen though. Oh well.

They were ordinary people
They were H sap sap, just like the rest of us.

Ecclesiastes 3:18-20
I said in my heart with regard to the sons of men that God is testing them to show them that they are but beasts.

For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other.

They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts; for all is vanity.

All go to one place; all are from the dust, and all turn to dust again.
