Yes you are probably right but the problem is, the reach of the others side point of view, they have these massive media platforms and news outlets that churn out this negative approach, they thrive on it.

They're pros; they thrive on it; they have a lot invested in it; they have a lot of practice.

So its hard not to become aggressive and defensive in reply.

It's counter-productive. They thrive on it. Attacks on Trump either slide-off or make him more popular. Our insults validate. Even our facts work against us, because they miss the point.

There's a negative stereotype working against the Democratic party. It's a heavy, heavy burden. Winning an election on their own merits ( not due to the other party's scandal ) cannot happen if the Democratic party reinforces the negativity that is being cast against them. It's like putting up a lightning-rod in a thunderstorm.

Besides that, the Republicans sling mud much much better than the Democrats. Even without the stereotypes, that's a losing strategy.

Liberal thinkers need to work out out how to get their message out to the masses without sounding condescending.

the masses need to be heard and understood. If not, they'll vote their pocket books and the the Republicans win.
