It's snowing!

My wife, as most of you know, is from England, not used to much snow. Her 1st year here, and our 1st snow fall, she called me up, all excited, "it's snowing!" Then we had our 2nd, then 3rd.... by our 5th snow fall it changed to "it's fricking snowing again."
Being a trucker, snow is a 4 letter word to me. And feathers, I went to high school in Marshalltown, Ia. That was back in the early 70's.

Has it snown... wait, that's not a word, has snow happened in your area yet?
Nope, it was 70 here today. I love snow, but I'm not ready for it just yet. Give me a couple more weeks and I'll be begging for the white stuff. :bounce

It hasn't snowed yet, but its been raining all day and it is freezing outside. A little more of the mountain is white every day, so I expect that we'll have snow by morning.

If only I had a heater in my Jeep. Dang, sold out parts dealers...

There's waves and waves of the white stuff settling down on the recently-harvested cornfields around us! I love looking out the window and seeing it pile up, knowing that we've got a stocked cellar and a nice, warm house!

Within a few months, I'll be screaming for the snow to go away, but for now, it's lovely, blanketing the earth like a feather quilt.

It's supposed to happen tonight -- 8 days after the average date of the year's first snowfall. And I am NOT a happy camper! I absolutely hate, detest, abhor snow. If I never saw another snowflake in my life, it would be fine with me!

I'm sorry to have brought the news to the people that dislike snow. One of my favorite quotes, from the anime series "Fruits Basket" is about snow, though, that I hope it will bring at least a little comfort to those that are dreading it.

"What becomes of snow?" (The answer, of course, being traditionally thought to be 'it becomes water.')

"It becomes Spring!"

I love snow, but it's summer here  . Even in the winter we're too close to the ocean in any direction to get it anyway. :(

Snow ? what's that ?.....we never have snow.............:(

Could you send me some, please feathers, I've forgotten what it looks like ?

The last time we saw snow that settled here was in 1983, if I remember rightly........
Wow, that's worse than Texas. Typically we have 1 snow day a year in North Central Texas. Two years ago we had one of the worse snow storms in a long time. We had about 1 1/2 feet of snow overnight. Sad thing is it melted the next day :( but it was fun while it lasted.

We're expecting snow in Detroit by the end of the week. When I think of snow though, I don't think of beautiful corn fields. I think of the black nasty snow along the side of the road and clinging to peoples bumpers.
Are you referring to "bumper boogers"?:biglaugh:

Ditto! And I think of everything else that goes along with it... bone-chilling cold, grey, dismal skies, and long, long nights.

Maybe you know who was called from my phone then...Marshalltown came up on my phone bill this month and I can't recall calling there...I don't even know anyone there! :p

And Feathers dear...can you keep the snow up there? It's forcasted for tomorrow here and I really have no desire to see it.:help:

Orion is the one I'm worried about. He's been living in Florida for so long that I think he's forgotten about snow...he's certainly freezing his butt off already and has to wear a jacket while I'm still wearing short sleeve shirts:biglaugh:
