Nope, it was 70 here today. I love snow, but I'm not ready for it just yet. Give me a couple more weeks and I'll be begging for the white stuff. :bounceFeathersinHair said:Has it snown... wait, that's not a word, has snow happened in your area yet?
It's supposed to happen tonight -- 8 days after the average date of the year's first snowfall. And I am NOT a happy camper! I absolutely hate, detest, abhor snow. If I never saw another snowflake in my life, it would be fine with me!FeathersinHair said:There's waves and waves of the white stuff settling down on the recently-harvested cornfields around us! I love looking out the window and seeing it pile up, knowing that we've got a stocked cellar and a nice, warm house!
Within a few months, I'll be screaming for the snow to go away, but for now, it's lovely, blanketing the earth like a feather quilt.

:biglaugh: That's funny. She caught on fast, huh? :biglaugh:jgallandt said:My wife, as most of you know, is from England, not used to much snow. Her 1st year here, and our 1st snow fall, she called me up, all excited, "it's snowing!" Then we had our 2nd, then 3rd.... by our 5th snow fall it changed to "it's fricking snowing again."Being a trucker, snow is a 4 letter word to me. And feathers, I went to high school in Marshalltown, Ia. That was back in the early 70's.

It just takes so darned long!FeathersinHair said:I'm sorry to have brought the news to the people that dislike snow. One of my favorite quotes, from the anime series "Fruits Basket" is about snow, though, that I hope it will bring at least a little comfort to those that are dreading it.
"What becomes of snow?" (The answer, of course, being traditionally thought to be 'it becomes water.')
"It becomes Spring!"
Could we arrange to swap places every six months?SnaleSpace said:I love snow, but it's summer here .
Couldn't you just send me the snow?Katzpur said:Could we arrange to swap places every six months?
Wow, that's worse than Texas. Typically we have 1 snow day a year in North Central Texas. Two years ago we had one of the worse snow storms in a long time. We had about 1 1/2 feet of snow overnight. Sad thing is it melted the next day but it was fun while it lasted.michel said:Snow ? what's that ?.....we never have snow.............
Could you send me some, please feathers, I've forgotten what it looks like ?
The last time we saw snow that settled here was in 1983, if I remember rightly........
Oh, if only I could!!!!!SnaleSpace said:Couldn't you just send me the snow?

Are you referring to "bumper boogers"?:biglaugh:Ormiston said:We're expecting snow in Detroit by the end of the week. When I think of snow though, I don't think of beautiful corn fields. I think of the black nasty snow along the side of the road and clinging to peoples bumpers.
Ditto! And I think of everything else that goes along with it... bone-chilling cold, grey, dismal skies, and long, long nights.Ormiston said:We're expecting snow in Detroit by the end of the week.
