Jerry Falwell

turk179

I smell something....
He said a hell of a lot more than that. He said black people were opposed to sanctions. (They were overwhelmingly in favor.) He said Nelson Mandela was a Communist. He said Bishop Tutu was a phony. He did everything he could to support the apartheid regime.

The truth is that Falwell only gave up preaching racism when the audience for that kind of thing diminished, and he saw that preaching homophobia was more profitable. He was a grasping, power-hungry man who spent his entire career making a living by stirring up fear and hatred. The only sad thing about his death was that it didn't happen fifty years earlier.
I wouldn't get to carried away with arguing with this jokester. There is no way on earth that he is in the least bit serious.

"The argument that making contraceptives available to young people would prevent teen pregnancies is ridiculous. That's like offering a cookbook as a cure to people who are trying to lose weight."

"Grown men should not be having sex with prostitutes unless they are married to them."

The reason Jerry did not say that grown women should not be having sex with prostitutes is because he still wanted his wife to lay him now and then. Relatively few people have prostituted their natural talents so much as Jerry Falwell.

It really bothers me when they speak evil of Jerry Falwell. He was a man of God and I love and miss him. I know he is in heaven right now. I just had to get that out

Jerry Fallwell (Fell Far) was evil incarnate whose stated goals and entire life was centered around turning the United States into a theonomy where our Ten Bill of Rights was to be replaced with the Ten Commandments.

His cohorts in the crime of a theodemocratic United States, such as Pat Robertson, still work dilligently at that goal.

The man was nothing more than a Christian terrorist who used the legal system to threaten the White House.

Good riddance I say.

You'd be suprised at the number of people blinded by religion who thought FellFar was the best thing since sliced bread.

And not all of them are as blatant as the Westboro Baptists.

These are the same people that send Robertson money and watch his 700 Club religiously (no pun) and flock to Popov "concerts".

I just want to say that vitriol that is being spewed out at the late Mr. Falwell is perfectly understandable but I don’t think it is necessarily healthy. And I think it is exactly what hwit wants you to do. This way he can tell himself again that all you ungodly people are “persecuting” Christians. It really is not worth it.

And I know this is not going to be popular, but I will say it anyways. I think it is important to forgive Jerry Falwell. Not for his sake, he’s dead. And not for hwit’s sake either, he won’t appreciate it. But because the only other option is to carry the hate around with you, and as I said I don’t think that is healthy.

Oh, I don't hate Falwell. Hate is a waste of energy. Nor do I forgive him. As a dead man does not need my forgiveness.
But I will gladly point out vitriolic statements made by extremists of all beliefs. As an education, not to the poster of the OP, who, as you said, will only feed his persecution complex. But to any others who may read these posts. Even if it is just for a good laugh.

No it is not. Perish the thought. I would never want someone to blaspheme but you do because your heart is full of wickedness.
Do you believe that “God” can hear you when you lie? Do you believe that you will be punished for lying? Do you believe that bearing false witness is a sin? Are you going to lie again when you respond to this post?

God sees all and knows all so yes he knows when you lie. Bearing false witness is a sin, yes. What makes you think I will lie?

You are as transparent as a sheet of glass. When you stared this thread about Jerry Falwell you hoped that people would say nasty things about him. That is what you wanted. That is incredibly obvious. When you deny this obvious fact you are lying. That is also incredibly obvious.

And I assure you that I am not the only one who can see these obvious facts, everyone who has read this thread can see that you are lying if you claim that you didn’t want people to insult Jerry Falwell.

It is also incredibly obvious that in doing so it is you that has been disrespectful to the memory of Jerry Falwell. What you have done is the equivalent of taking a poster of the man to a gay rights rally and inviting people to throw eggs at it.

You saw this coming. Don’t tell me you didn’t see it coming because that would be a lie. You wanted this to happen. Don’t tell me you didn’t want this to happen because that would be a lie.

I think it's a dangerous idea that once you die nobody should talk about the evil you did. I'm not angry at Falwell, but he was what he was and he did what he did, and I don't believe in sugarcoating it out of some misplaced respect for the dead.

Criticism of Falwell is probably useless now because he's dead.

If he hadn't made a fool out of himself every time he opened his mouth, that would greatly help your cause.

Good, then your god is more than free to strike me down.

But since he cannot, tough beans.

Christians like Fallwell are an embarassment, and a great sanger, not only to each and every non-Abrhamic around them, but other Christians who do not worship as they do.

Now, a simple yes or no answer please.

So YOU, personally, support theodemocracy?

Far from it neighbor.

He was part of a movement much more dangerous to the United States and our Constitution than any radical Muslim terrorist.

Thre are many more out there, many of whom work behind the scenes to effect this Nation's laws and eliminate religious equality and freedom, and in the process eliminate much more of them as well.

Dead or not, the agenda FellFar acribed to, that of his mentor Rushdooney, lives on.

I want nothing to do with any deity that approves of YOUR "methods".

No it is not. Perish the thought. I would never want someone to blaspheme but you do because your heart is full of wickedness.
