Jesus Casts Demons into Pigs, and They Drown!

The big problem with this story is that pigs can swim. They’re even known to like swimming in water. The same goes for hogs. So this story doesn’t make sense.

What about demon possessed pigs, hogs etc.? Can they swim? Especially when they are Hell bent on killing themselves.

Have you done a study on this?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Maybe they can, but how long? And even after rushing down from steep bank?

In a way it is a funny story, they asked Jesus not to send them into the abyss, and that they wanted to go to the swine. And then the swine committed a suicide by drowning into abyss.

It kind of gives me a picture of lemmings running off a cliff. That would be a lot of possessed lemmings!

Yeah, like plenty of the bible, full of metaphors

The ONLY way to describe some"thing" like that is with metaphor. Even the word "thing" needs quotes.

Any concept which isn't material, isn't physical, like casting out a demon, requires analogy and metaphor.

Am I wrong?

Kosher salted

OK, ok.... So. :D

Jesus casts them into the water, with the salt. The swine, obviously full of delicious sin, descend into hades becoming the very first strips of bacon?
Maybe, maybe, a couple of misbehaving turkeys got caught-up in the shake-down. ... ... Splash! And down into the fires they go!

Jesus invented kosher-turkey-bacon!

( Happy thanksgiving everyone )
