Jesus Casts Demons into Pigs, and They Drown!

For people who believe in the literal truth of gospel stories, the reality is that the pigs Jesus sent the demons to had the ability to swim and not drown.
I guess it depends on what you think a demon is, and if you believe Jesus can control them, to control the pigs. In the story, it seems 'logical' that Jesus would have had the ability to control the demons, to control the pigs, to inhibit them. Thus freeing the demons, (when they come out of the pigs at the their deaths) and perhaps simultaneously destroying the demons as well? Because if they come out of the pigs while they are both in the water, perhaps the demons can't survive either. I guess it depends on the broader understanding of the mythological context of that time, which maybe no one really knows

Maybe the pigs could swim.....

But what if being possessed meant they couldn't as the demons didn't know how to make the host bodies swim????

The ONLY way to describe some"thing" like that is with metaphor. Even the word "thing" needs quotes.

Any concept which isn't material, isn't physical, like casting out a demon, requires analogy and metaphor.

Am I wrong?

Yes, you are right, concepts that aren't real or couldn't happen often require an analogy and metaphor.
