Jesus doesn't believe in evolution

Evolution is IN the bible, what do you think Genesis is describing? Go back and read it for yourself. Stop listening to the preachers who have no education. God created the universe not the bible.

The evidence for evolution is not lacking, it's substantial.

Evidence for an Intelligent Maker is everywhere? It is but once again I ask you, why couldn't God have humanity form by evolution?

You're placing the bible above God. The bible was written by ignorant men who were afraid of comets.

You believe the first man had the prospect of living forever? So man had the ability to live forever yet Jesus had to die?

Stop listening to the preachers and start thinking for yourself. Let me ask you this, have you ever taken a Physical Anthropology course or one that covers evolution?

I have read Genesis for myself, and I defy you to show me where "evolution is in the Bible."
And then you claim that "the Bible was written by ignorant men who were afraid of comets." Are you aware that the Bible states: "No prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit"? (2 Peter 1:20,21)
Your statement "You believe the first man had the prospect of living forever? So man had the ability to live forever yet Jesus had to die? " reveals your need for a better understanding of what the Bible really teaches.
I would respond to you: "Stop listening to the ToE propagandists and start thinking for yourself."

I did not think for a second you did.

Yes it is.

What, like you claim to have done?
You do know that ratification is not actually research, right?

Bold faced lie.

Well, again, how unfortunate for you that people can google and determine for themselves whether honest debate about ID and evolution is being choked off by ToE proponents in academia, the media, and scientific circles.

Mark 10:5-6

5 ....... Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’

Evolution, in the beginning, started with a sexless cell. Not until many many years later did male and female cells comeinto being. Therefore Jesus didn't believe in evolution. BUt scientific evidence points towards evolution.

Is Jesus therefore wrong in what he says in Mark 10:5-6

Was Jesus speaking metaphorically?

Light (big bang), darkness (space), then space between the waters (separation and condensation of matter into suns), then dry ground (planets), grass, seed bearing plants, stars the sun and moon, birds, then fish, small animals and livestock, then humans. It's all there. It's always been there, you've just been listening to the preachers who lost their battle long ago with the scientists for who is going to explain the universe to the people.

I know some of it is out of order, obviously the sun has to come before the plants and animals but you have to remember that Genesis is like a child's story. You can't explain the big bang to primitive humans who were so ignorant they thought the wind was a god.

No prophecy of scripture springs from any private interpretation? Really? That's like saying that everything on the internet is true and the proof of that is because that's what it says on the internet.

So all of that stuff about putting to death those who violate the sabbath, and adultery, and children who disrespect their parents, that is from God? How about the part that says you shall pay a ransom to God upon the census, from God? What does God want with money? Don't you think it was more likely the ancient rabbi's wrote that into Exodus 30:12 to make it religious law so they could wear nice robes and live in palace like estates?

I have a need for a better understanding of what the bible really teaches? You capitalize the "b" in bible because it is God to you. Let me ask you this, who created the universe? God, right? But instead of studying the universe to learn about God you study the bible, a human creation.

Unfortunately for you they don't.
no lots of people, just like you, only search google to ratify their beliefs and feelings, truth and facts be damned.

So much blatantly false information in such a small paragraph.

I am most impressed.

Nah!!! Jesus taught in 'Parables', because this helped a greater number of people to grasp his ideas. Jesus was a Teacher! He was a good teacher. So he didn't blind people with science, or his high intellect.... teachers don't do that.

Excuse my presumption, but if you went on a foundation teacher's course it would help you to grasp Jesus's brilliant communication techniques. If you are already a teacher, then I'm sorry for my presumption, but I do suggest you turn through the course notes again.

The theory of evolution is one of the best supported theories in science. There are mountains of evidence that support it.

Yes... I reckon you're right. I bet Jesus agrees with you as well. If, twenty five years ago you had preached in the streets that young kids would soon have mobile 'phones with world wide web access, cameras, videos, games, sat nav, language translation ability etc etc, you would have been treated as if crazy. Wasn't Jesus good at what he did!

Would the statement even work as a metaphor?

It was an answer to a question about divorce which he answerd symbolically.

The rest of the verses say....

7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

'One' is symbol Jesus often used.

I'm not talking about "one"; I'm talking about "the beginning of creation." IMO, Jesus argument boils down to something like this: "God made humanity male and female on purpose. He had some intent when he did that, and divorce goes against that intent." I don't think the argument works if we assume that creation wasn't a literal event.

Yeah if you take those verses far enough it would be an argument that Jesus was against same sex marriage but that would be missing the point. The point of the argument against divorce is that something joined has become one and shouldn't be separated. He could have used Adam and Steve and made the same point haha.

Jesus doesn't believe in anything because he's dead. Sorry, but that is my view on things. I prefer not to live in the past.

I'm not a Christian, but I don't think that necessarily shows a contradiction.

How did God make humans and animals sex-based (male/female)? It doesn't say. Most sexless lifeform is single cells etc, and not animals. I think there are some animals that have part or whole sexless reproduction, but don't quote me on that. :) Many plants do, but the idea above is that God supposedly made animals and humans gender-based and there's nothing in there suggesting what steps this supposed God took to get there.

I made a program a few weeks back that downloads data from an EDI service and then loads it into a database. I could have done it in Java, Python, or a number of languages, but I choose to use BASH and stored procedures in MySQL. So... does the program do the exact same thing as it would have in any other solution? Yup. It does. The point is, there are many different solutions or paths to a solution.

There is still a huge number of species that reproduce asexually, so no male and female for them.

But in any case Mark 5-6 is specifically about mosaic law relating to human marriage and divorce, nothing to do with any other species. So it has no relevance to evolution in any whatsoever.

It's amazing that you've concluded that Jesus didn't believe in evolution. Isn't it much more accurate to say that Jesus couldn't have believed in evolution? How could he? The theory of evolution wasn't formulated until almost 2,000 years after he was alleged to have lived.

Is Jesus therefore wrong in what he says in Mark 10:5-6

Jesus allegedly cursed a fig tree for not being laden with figs when it wasn't the season for figs.

Was Jesus therefore wrong to blame a tree for not producing fruit out of season?

Didn't God (and hence, by extension, Jesus) design the fig tree to only produce figs in season? What kind of a knucklehead faults a tree for not producing fruit out of season? Seriously.

And if Christians are expected to emulate Jesus, why don't they throw unholy temper tantrums in the produce section of the supermarket when their favorite fruits and vegetables aren't in stock out of season?
