...After his execution. It was then that folks like Paul figured out this brilliant way of manipulating and controlling the masses. If you don't do this, and that..... eternal torture.Jesus was a Jew. When did his followers stop being Jews?
Well they're probably wrong. He might have been titled 'Master', but not Rab, nor Rabbi.Jesus was a Jew teaching his followers. I have heard Jews refer to him as a Rabbi.
He came to uphold it, re-instate it, less the whole sacrificial money-go-round.He said that he didn't come to destroy the (Mosaic) Law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17-20)
Yes...... if you convert to Judaism. Therefore, are Christians allowed to call ourselves Jews?
Evidently you don't understand what a genealogy is.
Why must the Messiah be born of a virgin? Where are you getting this from? The Messiah had to be both born of a virgin and be of the line of David. Joseph marrying Mary and adopting Jesus made him legally of line of David.
What was Jewish orthodoxy during the first century and who had the authority to define it?Jesus' followers stopped being Jews when they began following a heretic instead of the Law and traditions passed down by the Lord their God - to simplify. So, no. Christians aren't Jews. They're a subset of the Jewish faith; initially a cult that sprang into a global religious movement thanks to many opportunistic moments in History.
I wonder if one or more people observed 'believers' giving up their possessions to the 'disciples'. Could this have been a turning point? What was Jewish orthodoxy during the first century and who had the authority to define it?
I don't understand.I wonder if one or more people observed 'believers' giving up their possessions to the 'disciples'. Could this have been a turning point?
WI don't understand.
What don't you understand about my statement?I don't understand.
What does your comment have to do with heterodoxy and/or orthodoxy?W
What don't you understand about my statement?
I think the 'greed' that is inherent in human nature proved more powerful than any Jewish Religious beliefs in some of the Jews. There would have been some who were envious when seeing believer's of Jesus laying possessions at the feet of the disciples. Human nature being as it is. People never change. Only times and places do. Religion is one of the biggest money spinners the world has ever known.I wonder if one or more people observed 'believers' giving up their possessions to the 'disciples'. Could this have been a turning point?

What Paul said he was inspired by God to say it. If you can't prove it wrong, maybe you should reconsier you dislike for God's warning.
Well they're probably wrong. He might have been titled 'Master', but not Rab, nor Rabbi.
The only think wrong is your somment and ther is no probably about it.
He came to uphold it, re-instate it, less the whole sacrificial money-go-round.
You might have more credibility if you quoted accurately. What is it about "fulfill" you don't understand.
Yes...... if you convert to Judaism.
You certainly would have more credibility if you could understand the Bible.
Rolm 2:28-29 - For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter, and his praise is not from men, but from God.
Gal 3:29 - And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.
Not your version of it.

What do you suppose Jesus meant by 'to fulfil it'. Remember Jesus said that though you were told in the Mosaic Law an eye for an eye, I now tell you to turn the other cheek. I think it was from The Sermon on The Mount. Not sure whereYES! because to every intent and purpose that is what they are. They are messianic Jews.

The followers of Jesus are Spiritual Jews. I would think bloodline non-existent in Spiritual Realm. The Bible says in Heaven there is no male or female.Since Jesus had no father thru a bloodline when Joseph married Mary he would become legally Joseph son and of the line of David
As for challenging my beliefs you need to take a beginners bible course, you don't have a clue what your taking about
Jews who are still under the Law are non- believers of Jesus. Paul explains it. Believing in Jesus and the Word is to not be bound by the Law .Jesus did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfil it. It appears that you cannot have it both ways but consider this: Jesus walked on water and also rose up in the air but His actions did not cause the Law of Gravity to no longer exist. All would have flown off the earth. No. He transcended the Law of gravity. The same with the Law of Moses He did not remove it He transcended it.The followers of Jesus are Spiritual Jews. I would think bloodline non-existent in Spiritual Realm. The Bible says in Heaven there is no male or female.
There were Christians in the earliest days of Christianity who believed in Jesus and yet still kept the Law, such as the Ebionites.Jews who are still under the Law are non- believers of Jesus.
