Religous organizations don't pay what other non profits don't pay. Most churches are not mega churches. This is true also for any religious organization. Not just Christian Churches or Christian organizations.

The IRS ruled in the 50s that 501c status clearly means said organization cannot engage in politics as a collective body- or put money toward the same.
