Donald Trump killed the bipartisan bill, which he feared would rob him of a campaign issue. He admitted that and bragged about killing the bill. It wasn't killed because Republicans in Congress really thought it was bad. Quite the opposite. It was killed so that Trump would have an issue to run on. And that is exactly what Harris pointed out in the speech that you did not listen to. See post #25.

Harris, being the Vice President, has no power to "take actions now, before the election", and you know it. However, Joe Biden, who is the President, took the verybi actions you deemand in your post. He did so after Trump ordered Republicans to kill the bill that they crafted with Democrats and were about to pass. Under his leadership, border crossings have been reduced down to essentially the same level they were at when Trump left office. If Harris can bring the compromise bill back and get it passed, then the situation will be improved much further.

The actual vote that killed it was procedural vote to consider passing it, so many who voted against it did so for a technical reason--to allow the same bill to be brought up again. Both McConnell and Schumer ended up withdrawing their support, because Trump's lobbying efforts guaranteed it would fail. Did you even listen to what he said? He said that the bill "made it better for the opposing side", among other things. He has said claimed responsibility for himself elsewhere. For example, back in January, as he was lobbying against the bill, he said:
