Mayor signs bag ban

Plastic bag bans help nanny-staters, not the environment

Frogs being incrementally boiled alive in frying pan.

Wonder what other freedoms and choices the Socialist Democrats want to take away next?

I like plastic bags and I reuse mine many times. They are easier to reuse than paper ones
I have a place to put them and reuse them for lunch bags.

I would think that most people would be aware that plastic in general is destructive to life on earth. This includes not only plastic bags but bottles, to include plastic bottles with only water in them. My assumption is that you just don't care about the earth after you die. It puzzles me that you could be so uninformed that you don't already know what I just told you. Are you so young that you can not yet grasp that there are consequences to your actions?

The plastic bag 'ban' was bought in in the UK about 3-years ago and it has worked great.
It is not a ban, but if you want a plastic bag it costs you, so I now have reusable bags that I take shopping. I have bags in my car, my work case, by the front door.
It is a great law.

I just wish they'd bring it in for plastic bottles too.

I like plastic bag bans, but I never imagined it was possible that they caused such distress to a handful of whiny, entitled children who believe the only thing important in life is their own personal convenience.

Now I really like plastic bag bans :D

Be sure to keep us informed if any more of them are enacted

Personally I want the choice to live in a world where the air I breathe, the water I drink, and the ground I get food from is as free of toxic pollution as possible, but right-wingers keep trying to take that freedom away from me. Glad some places are taking small steps to prevent the planet we all have to live on from being further polluted.

I don't have a problem with this.

Makes no sense to create an item that takes between 10-1,000 years to decompose, based on the type of soil it's in and other variables, just to have a 1 time use that only last a few minutes.

I like how Aldi does it in Germany. They sell cloth bags right at the counter. So if you haven't gotten around to getting set up on cloth grocery bags yet, they are right there. About 2 Euros a piece iirc, reusable for years and significantly less impact on the environment as even when they become unusable, cloth decomposes much quicker (in about 5-6 months).

In that case you need to move to Asia because that's where most of the world's pollution comes from. Not here.

I need to move to a more polluted place because I prefer to live in a less polluted place? Huh?

The fact that I don't live in the worst possible place on Earth doesn't mean things cannot or should not be improved here.

I don't need any help. But I am going to call it when I see it.

Enjoy your gilded cage were you have to do whatever Uncle socialist Nanny tells you to.
