We are to be in the World but not OF the world.
So that means that an LDS cannot be a bartender even though they do not drink?
What of all the other jobs that may lead someone to think they sin?
Truck driver for example?

Interestingly enough, Your reply is not really an answer.
Perhaps you can give your opinion on that actually means and then tie it into how you think it answers my post?

Drinking kills.

A good co-worker freind of mine drank himself to death. He was LDS, had gone on a mission, etc. etc.

His mother found him dead in the basement, he had bled to death because of ulcers that had eaten away at his digestive system. The doctors warned him that he was going to die if he continued to drink. He would show up to work as pale as a ghost, because he would bleed uncontrollably from his digestive system, which had become ulcer ridden.

I worked with him every day for about two or three years.

A life snuffed out on account of a stupid man made drink.

He was 36...

He had a three year old.

This MIGHT be relevant if the thread starter drinks.
However, the thread starter flat out stated he did not drink.
Care to try again?

Um...
Did Jesus avoid the bars?
Did Jesus avoid the prostitutes.
Did Jesus avoid the sinners?
Nope.
Jesus went to places that the sinners were.
He did not wait for the sinners to come to him.

So my question is, are the LDS suppose to strive to be like Jesus or are they supposed to run and hide from sin?

Jesus did a lot of things we shouldn't (or even can't) do. He created a new and everlasting covenant between us and God; he died for the sins of the world; he organised a church with authority.

Hence the word "strive."
Interestingly enough you did not answer the question.

You did not point out any flaw.
You merely replied with an excuse.

Big difference.

This seems like a silly thing to debate. Obviously I don't care enough to answer the question, and you if you didn't care enough about my non-response, it seems very futile. Lol.

AH.
So you are trolling then?

Nope, just pointing out logical fallacies where I see them. Since your question was a complete non sequitur, I didn't feel the need to answer it. But since you kept insisting that somebody answer, I thought that it would at least be best if you knew why people wouldn't answer it.

Really?
So the teachings of Jesus is all that matters, not what he actually did?

Thanks for the heads up.
