What about GARAGE?

The Americans say "g'rarge"

Brits say "garrige"

Aussies say "ga' rarge"

Should we even start with the NZ accent?

Vowels are all muddled up......"e" is pronounced "i" so "six" becomes "sex"....
"i" is "u"....so "his" becomes "hus"...
"i" can also replace "a" so "adamant" becomes "idament"....
"a" is replaced by "e" so an "apple" becomes an "epple"
Anyone with Kiwi friends knows what I mean.....:p

No. It's "ha GHWAR", with a gutteral g. It's a Spanish word, like Yama (llama) or armadeeo (armadillo).
Americans pronounce it Jag-war. British: Jag-you-ar.

I prefer "jag you are" because it sounds so foppish.
But on occasions when I want to appear manly, it's "jag wahr".
Tis the same with "al oo min ee um".

Garage rhymes with marriage here in Britainland.
