Lets stop debating on God. Does Love exist ?

idea

Question Everything
I think of it as describing things like behaviors and the like, but not a thing in itself because love has multiple meanings and covers a fair amount of variation on how the concept is portrayed.

Yes, love has multiple meanings.

Like - fish love. I love fish! Love to catch, kill, fry, and eat fish - love fish :)

Much of religion defines love as fish love.

Hi atheist !
Lets stop debating on God.

Now the question is:
Does love exist ? what do you say ? :)

I think human emotions exist. The human brain is a complex organ and there's a certain psychological and emotional component to our being. For this reason, it's quite common for humans to form bonds and connections to each other which would fall into the definition of what most people would understand as "love." It's not necessarily permanent or immutable - and can often fluctuate in intensity and sometimes mutate into something else (even jealousy and hatred).

Sometimes, it's more generalized, like when people say things like "I love America." I guess there can be different contexts and meanings whenever the word "love" is used.

Maybe it gets overused. A lot of media, too. All those books, stories, songs, movies - all about love. It's so popular and everywhere. Everyone loves love - or at least they love stories about love. It's in the media, plastered all over the place - especially around Christmastime. Love is a central message in many religions. For thousands of years, people have heard the notion that "ye shall love one another."

So, you'd think that, with all this talk about "love," there would be more of it in the world. Perhaps it's analogous to an unstable element which can sometimes be good and wonderful - but sometimes misused. Perhaps there's a certain power behind it which can either be used for good or bad.

And, I bow my head infront of love ! :)
I only bow for one thing.

...and no, it's not that. Get your minds out of the gutter.

I don't bow for "love" because the word is polysemous. I say I bow in front of love, you can interpret that as God, and others can interpret that as sexual intercourse.

Until people learn how to ask their questions clearly and precisely, these conversations will yield little wisdom.

What does it mean to say that something 'exists'? It exists how? In what ways? To what purpose?

What is love? Which variation? How do we know of it?

We need to understand context, and criteria, and specifics, or we're just going to talk and argue past each other.

Not objective things.

As in: remove beings capable of the emotion of love from existence and love no longer exists.
Just like "anger" and "fear" and other such emotions.
So things that have a borrowed existence aren't objective things?
