Let's Talk About Shiva

I know, I know, individual biases. :D
Gods are roundly rejected in Nasadiya Sukta with:
"The Gods are later than this world's production. Who knows then whence it first came into being?"
(arvāgh devā asya visarjanenāthā ko veda yataābabhūva ll)
Our discussion has made me start a new thread here: Seasonally, December 25th has already slipped by one month.

Who knows the truth? Who can tell us whence and how arose this universe? The gods are later than it’s beginning: who knows therefore whence comes this creation?

Only the god who sees in highest heaven: he only knows whence comes this universe, and whether it was made or uncreated. He only knows, or perhaps knows not.
- Rig Veda x.

If he was born two thousand years ago, then it was Aries and not Piscium.
But they could have created a more believable story in 2,000 years rather than - born to a virgin into whom a ghost breathed.

I need to look into the history of western astrology, which apparently became aligned with sidereal astrology 2000 years ago.

The story of Christ has endured the test of time, and whether it is true or not it has become the most influential story of our collective history.

It does not matter to Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists.
"The celebration of 25th December is believed to be a pagan practice. ..
God-fearing Muslims know that believing in Jesus (PBUH) is a crucial part of our faith and they teach this to their children. Muslims do not make a fool of themselves and their family by taking part in pagan practice."

No, if you can look past the show you see that's not even kind of true. Most of the world isn't Monotheist, despite what poll numbers get inflated because people are too afraid of rocks no less, bloody barbarians, to be seen as anything remotely themselves.

I wasn’t referring to who is Christian or monotheist or not. The influence has been felt all across the world if you include Islam’s interpretation of Jesus also.

Most people of the world are aware of Jesus, even atheists, for the simple reason that we all use the Gregorian calendar.

The only thing in common between the Christian trinity and the Hindu trimurti is the number 3, represented by the prefix tri, also present in trilogy, tricycle, and more.
After googling Hindu God Shiva .. found a number of things in common .. quite a number . with the "Most High" God .. Creator .. Destroyer .. Father and Protector of the Universe .. atop the Christian Trinity Pyramid .

This is the same god as God most high -- El Shaddai of Abraham .. everyone in the ancient Near east is going to recognize this God as an antigen of EL .. Enlil . Illil .. Most high God of the Sumerian Pantheon Most High of the Canaanite Pantheon .. God of the priestly order of Melchi-Zedek ...

Now this trinity I think may be of interest to followers of Jesus El is the Most high in the heavens -- Head of the Divine Council .. called "The Assembly of EL" in Psalm 82.

Zedek - is the Patron God of Jerusalem .. a twin God of Justice and Righteousness .. seated at the right hand of "The Father" in the Assembly of EL. The Trinity is then EL - Lord Justice - Lord Righteous.

Let us now look to Jesus as a Priest of this Order .. one centered at Jerusalem .. the "City of Peace" .. and like Melchi-Zedek beging both priest and King We have the Prince of Peace .. Lord of Righteousness .. Dispenser of Justice.

and one more time .. "Seated at the right hand of the Father .. dispensing justice" this prince of peace .. Lord of Righteousness. This is the Trinity of Jesus .. not tht silly man made dogma emperor Constantine used to unite under one God .. and declare himself spokesperson for that God .. Pontifex Maximus . .. not the first Roman emperor to do this.

The Trinity of Jesus is as stated above .. "because" the Bible tells us so :) Hebrew 6 .. Jesus .. a priest forever in the order Melchi-Zedek
Its all about the Name .. and the name of the God of the Zadokite Priestly Order is EL .. the name of the Aaronite Priestly Order is YHWH.

Yes but that is artificially inflating Jesus's actual public awareness. I think he's actually evil. I mean his whole scheme is macabre as balls. The whole Abrahamic thing, honestly, Not kosher. They want to kill the nonbelievers whether you can find the verses that they use to support their, though not all monotheists, beliefs.

How did "let's talk about Shiva" turn into Abrahamic talk?

The site's full of Abrahamic talk.

Let's get back to Shiva, please.
You seem surprised.

Forms of Siva that are commonly worshipped, in no particular order ... Nataraja, the Lingam, the Puranic version alone, the Puranic version with Uma, the Puranic version with Uma and Ganesha, the Puranic version with Uma and Ganesha and Murugan, Dakshinamurthy, Ardinarisvara, Harihara. Other less common forms include ether lingams, (Chidambaram) Sadashiva, each of His powers separately, in the form of Bhairava, in the form of Hanuman, in the Sivaguru.

Personally, I focus 98% of my worship on the first two, but also adore Dakshinamurthy on occasion. Also, the entire universe and everything in it is another form. Aum Na Ma Si Va Ya

I disagree, Set is Set, Yaldabaoth is Yaldabaoth.

Start at 24:12 if you want to skip.

Does this chaos happen often?

Here is a short and beautiful ISHA video on the thevaram hymns, and the importance of devotion in Tamil culture. Enjoy.
See I love this, but a great flaw in Hinduism is only to look inward and to what comes inwardly, like these titles and stories. But I know Shiva is darkness, the "nothing that created everything" so I don't see why there aren't more adherents that study this darkness by looking without.

Is this text relevant / useful to read and research? I've downloaded 2 different translations. In one, the author cautions: "It needs to be stated upfront. Shiva answers no questions." I like this. Mysterious. :)

It's the same Shiva?
I don't know much on that text. @Vinayaka , do you know much of it?

Bhairava is an aspect of Shiva, if I understand right.

Looking inward isn't about seeing "what comes inwardly." It's about realizing what is immanent...what is inherent in/as the nature of one's being as opposed to seeking what is transcendent.

Chidananda rupa Shivoham Shivoham. I assure you this is no flaw.
