And a fine looking tool it is!

Thanks. Such a tool never jams or runs out of bullets and can be wielded well on a sleepy night by an extremely stealthy person. Pretty balanced for throwing as well.

I suppose if someone came a calling in the woods with one of those little peashooters, a well aimed 50cal. ball shot from behind a tree by a well concealed marksman would surely alleviate such a threat.

And it's cordless!

Works for me. I'm a fan of single shot rifles.
They foster a state of mind which I prefer to "spray & pray".
But I did practice a bit with an M1A Super Match.
Criminy, that thing is far better than most bolt guns (sub 1 MOA).

Some are at their best while in the forest, but mind you that takes good aim and woodcraft.

Spray and pray ? What about all that poison lead going every which where versus one well placed lead ball ?

And the marksman ? Single minded enough to dispatch the quarry with one shot then call it a day.

And the quarry ? Never to know what hit it

Those possessing such woodcraft don't usually stand out in the open like a shooting range target. I don't imagine that people so engaged in more of an urban setting are going to sit on a fence post like a beer bottle either.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
We all have our roles to play in advancing hunting, even Ted.
We don't have to be mean, cuz no matter where you go, there your are.

Meh.....to each his own, as long as yer not the aggressor.

I pity the aggressor who comes after me. Unbeknownst to them, they are biting off perhaps more than they can chew. And I'm a damn good shot, if I may say so myself.

In fact, my husband and I are off to the shooting range in just a little while. Never hurts to continue to hone one's skills.

Is this the same husband who just had emergency surgery a few days ago ? Are you sure he is up for the shooting range ?

Absolutely. He is only limited to lifting more than five pounds, and he's only going to be lifting a Glock.

He's a manly man. But in case you don't believe that a person can lift a handgun and go to a shooting range 9 days after they have an appendectomy, here you go:

Appendectomy Recovery Care

To heal faster and reduce chances of complications during your appendectomy recovery period, take the following precautions:
The golden rule after any surgery is to get as much rest as possible. During the first few weeks after surgery, you must avoid strenuous activities. If you have gone through a laparoscopic surgery, restrict your activity during the first three to five days after surgery. If you have had an open appendectomy, the time frame, for recovery, in this regard is the first 10 to 14 days after surgery. If you feel exceptionally well in a few days time, consult your doctor before you resume normal activity.
A very important step to hasten recovery is to support your abdomen every time you cough. During the appendectomy recovery time, you are likely to experience abdominal pain whenever you laugh, cough, or move. To support the area operated upon and minimize pain, place a pillow on your abdomen and gently apply pressure before you move.
While recovering from any surgery, everyone encounters some amount of pain. However, if you experience excess pain it will hamper your progress. This kind of pain will increase the stress your body is under and may slow down the healing process. Thus, if you find that the pain is more than slight discomfort or persists despite prescribed pain medications, let your doctor know.
Once you are further along your recovery period, and decide to resume work or return to school, ensure you are completely ready for the added stress. Kids who return to school in less than a week after surgery, should be careful not to exert themselves in sports or gym class, up to four weeks after surgery.
One can start doing mild exercises such as walking after 1 week of laparoscopic surgery and 3 weeks of open surgery.
Good nutrition is another very important factor, as you need to give your body all the help possible to rebuild and regenerate. Ensure that your diet is healthy and packed with immunity boosting vitamins. Supplements of beta-carotene or vitamin A, which promotes healthy scar tissue may be taken after consultation with your doctor. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system and assists the healing of skin.
Most importantly, follow your surgeon's instructions thoroughly to avoid post-surgery complications. Be regular with your followups with your surgeon.
Follow these steps to ensure that your appendectomy recovery time does not get extended. Plenty of sleep and carefully regulated physical activity will get you back on your feet in no time.

Thanks for your concern though.

Good news Kathyrn !

So are you going to be shooting in the Appalachians where he is currently working ?

Nope. He is off work for the next few weeks. We'll be shooting in Texas.

Why are you so curious about this, by the way?

Well then by all means don't have him lifting nothing heavier than a pea shooter. Does it have more kick than 5PSI ?

I'll let him pace himself. As my oldest son is so fond of saying, "Hell, he's a grown *** man."
