Little Known Facts About Yourself

I am currently working towards a business degree, you know so when the whole economy collapses I can be unemployed too!

I love snow until it gets dirty brown, then it can go away.

I am addicted to coffee.

I love to get up early, but I also like to stay up late; sometimes this creates a problem.

I would move to Maine in a heartbeat if I could and not because my brother is there, (although it would be great to see him and his wife).

I don't have much interest in fashion, I like what I like because I like it. Get over it.

My local representatives know me by name because I email them so much. :)

If I don't listen to NPR in the morning I feel out of touch with the world.

I REALLY love Thai food. The spicier the better.

Since going back to school I have a 4.0 gpa, something I am very proud of and wonder why I couldn't be this focused the first time around.

Most people think I'm very serious all the time, they don't know that I'm usually laughing on the inside and like to joke around.

If it weren't so cold and the fact that it gets boring very quickly, I'd shave my head again.

I kissed a girl and I liked it.

I am quite a shy person.

My relationship with my Dad is shaky, however it is improving we can now be in each others company for more than an hour without breaking into a major argument.

I was a competitive skier until I was 16 when I had to give it up due to money issues.

The times when I am happiest are when it is a beautiful sunny day, with a force 4 wind and perfectly calm waters and I've got my boat planing on a broad reach. In my books that pretty much sums up perfection.

Hmmmm........let's see:
I am a metal head, but most people here know that.

One thing, I have retired from pro-wrestling. My body, especially my knees, have been so heavily damaged that at just 22 years old I have bad arthritis in both of them, pinched nerves, my left knee, which has had a surgery to repair the ACL, will go numb periodically throughout the day and it takes me a few minutes to get out of bed. I have thought of a return, and want to, but I don't want to hasten or guarantee the use of a walker and/or wheel chair in my future.

I am slowly learning to play drums and keyboard so I can launch my own one man band. I tried with just a guitar and bass, but the music seemed very lacking.

My girlfriend and her mom are the only two people IRL that know I am trans. None of my family members or friends know.

Even though I like the heaviest, darkest, blackest, most brutal metal more than any other genre, Disturbed is my most favorite band, and Korn is another one of my favorites. Not many metal heads will agree with me on liking Korn, but I really connected to there music and lyrics having been an outcast and picked on alot in school. I also use to like Linkin Park, but really haven't listened to them in like 3 or 4 years, since I graduated High School.

I suck at math so much to the point where I thought of going to college for a degree in Psychology, but when I looked at the math, I might just give up now before I start because I have always struggled in math to the point I barely graduated high school.

I do not like any rap, hip hop, or r/b. But I guess that's a well known fact as well.

I have mild dyslexia. It's not much of a problem, unless I write numbers backwards at work it can cause a slight problem once in awhile, or if I say syllables mixed up (which is why I talk slowly). I also have aspergers. Because of this, most people will think I am very shy, or anti social because I am quiet and rarely speak in groups.

I taught myself to play bass, had very basic lessons in guitar, and am teaching myself to play drums and keyboard. I can read tabs, but not standard notation. I do not even know the actual notes I play.

And last, I have a scar on each arm, on the inside of the elbow bend, from donating plasma so much.

What a fun thread! As for me.....
  1. I once broke my elbow simply tripping over my own two feet in a parking lot while walking to my car. My husband says I have the amazing ability to spontaneously fall. On the other hand, I have also been complimented for the graceful way in which I carry myself.
  2. I work and perform in the theatre.
  3. I spent about 5 years working as an IBM contractor
  4. I am the oldest of four children
  5. My paternal great-grandmother outlived my grandmother and another great aunt and uncle. I learned that whether you are 24 or 104, watching a child die before you is one of the most painful things a person can experience.
  6. My mother travels the world on medical mission trips. The only jewelry she ever wears is what she and my Dad have made out of the hundreds of beer bottle caps she has collected from all over the world.
  7. I lived in New York City for a year and, among other things, got a job as the Wardrobe Supervisor for an off-Broadway show that featured Jean Stapleton. She sent me a Christmas card once with $50.00 in it. I love New York and would love to live there again someday soon.
  8. My husband looks kinda like Greg Kinnear. His humor still takes me by surprise.
  9. I have two boys, a 5 year old and a 5 month old. So beautiful.
  10. I hardly ever watch TV. When my husband is out of town, an entire week may go by with the TV never being turned on. Six Feet Under is the only television series I have ever followed in the past several years.
  11. I dated a Swedish Foreign exchange student in college. I spent about a month with him in Sweden and quickly realized that I loved his country, his language, his friends, and his family members that I was able to meet….but I didn’t really like him that much.
  12. I don’t understand the texting phenomenon. It seems like it’s a whole lot easier just to call people.
  13. I have been 29 for about 4 years now. It's a great age!
  14. I often stay up too late and then regret it in the morning.

I chew on sticks.
They must be about three to four inches long.
I walk barefoot anywhere I can, even on snow.
My normal diet consists of burgers, BBQ, and pizza. Veggies are only included when part of the dish.
I almost never sit with my feet on the floor.
I am the Eternal Bachelor and have no inclination to change that at all.

Ooh!

My right front tooth is pushed slightly farther back compared to my left one. This is because I lost that baby tooth by smashing into a concrete step chasing after my sister and her friend.

My first dog was a dalmatian.

I have lived in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Colorado and Virginia.

I threw up in a girl's hair during nap time in Kindergarten. It wasn't on purpose! I had eaten pretzels at lunch and absolutely hated them.

I went to Catholic school until high school...then I went to public school.

In 4th grade I ran up our phone bill by hundreds of dollars because I decided me and my friend should call one of those psychic hotlines. (My mom had to call and explain for a very long time...eventually they said she didn't have to pay it because we were kids and didn't know better). :D

Both sides of my family all know each other. My mom and dad met when they were 11 and all of my mom's brothers and sisters were friends with my dad and his brothers. Both sets of grandparents were friends, too.

My mom's best friend also happened to be my 1st grade teacher so...that worked out in a lot of ways. :D

I am at community college now, still racking up gen eds. My goal for next year is to finally transfer to a university and major in Radio-TV. I want to get a job in the production aspect of TV and/or films.

My middle name is Brianna (anna like it rhymes with banana ;)) and I am a Gemini!

I live in Santa Rosa, where I lived 16 years ago (before I moved around a bit).

I have visited 30 of the 50 U.S. States, including D.C.

I have also been to Canada, Mexico, most of the Caribbean, Ireland, Britain, France, Italy, Japan and New Zealand.

I was in New York City on September 11, 2001.

I was once a member of a cult.

I grew up watching The Brady Bunch, Mr. Rogers, 3...2...1... Contact, and Sesame Street.

I am Iron Man not.

My two front teeth are shorter than they should be.

When I was 10 or 11, I was riding my bike. I was trying to go as fast as I could, so I had my head down for aerodynamics. I hit a bump and the handlebar went up into my face and badly chipped my two front teeth. The dentist fixed it by grinding them down past the chipping.

I've thought about getting them fixed to look proper, but so far it hasn't been a priority.

The only thing I can think of at this moment:

Neither Joanna NOR Blayze is my actual real first name. I was born Kathlene Joanna, but convinced my parents to legally change it to Joanna Kathlene when I was in Elementary school. I hated kids calling me "Kat".

I have a bachelor's degree in graphic art, but found i hated doing it for a living.

I wound up working at a newspaper, and as a teacher's aide in study hall at the local community college, AND at mcdonalds just to get by, until i got the hair-brained idea to try and drive to california with a car ready to break apart....which it did, in the middle of the texas panhandle. :D

with my g/f at the time, we stayed with some relatives of mine in new mexico while looking for work. she found work at a nursing home, but i spent a whole month travelling in ever-widening circles as far as winslow AZ, and still nothing....there was a memorable time, when i applied for work as a prison guard in arizona, i walked 7 miles into the desert to get to the prison, walking past a sign that said "DO NOT PICK UP HITCH-HIKERS" :D...i didnt get the job because i scored too high on their I.Q. test..... I did learn that wisdom was not just hanging around in the desert to be picked up by wandering souls passing through. it was beautiful, though.

after a year of re-grouping back in illinois, i wound up down here, in florida, working as a telephone operator at a private resort for multi-billionaires in Palm Beach. I met some really interesting folk there, and befriended a former ambassador to iran (he died last year, age 90).

I worked there for 3 years til i realized i had spent enough time reading and writing by myself in that little room, and decided to go back to school, for film/video. I did and graduated in 1998.

I worked on numerous films/videos/commercials/documetaries...even a commercial for star wars toys (hasbro)...that was fun. but it wasnt constant enough, and i really shoudla moved to LA...but, i liked it here (in orlando) so i stayed, and started work doing Mosaic tiles!

I did mosaics for a year, then when that job ended i became an electrician. that was in 2000, and i worked non-union for about 4 years before joining the local IBEW apprenticeship program. I graduated just this last summer, and am ALMOST done with the movie me and my brother started filming last year....ALMOST! :D
