What are the benefits and drawbacks of such a move?

Benefits of being in the country where I grew up as opposed to a city. I had a good childhood and have strong roots to my homeland. Drawback would be away from family.

Mid age. We all support ourselves individually monetarily speaking and all live separately.

I miss the mountains and country. I think I’d miss my family just as much as I miss back home. That’s my problem.

Oh yeah. I spent about 4 years out that way. Great Lakes/Milwaukee areas. Really really flat.

Do you ever get up to the Wisconsin Dells? That's a nice mountain/river recreation area.

The thing is, your home state will always be there

But family members don't live forever

That's why I always try and spend as much time with my family as possible

Perhaps you could go and visit them?
