I suppose a doubter to be a better student of science, philosophy, of life in general.
Why? Because when a person questions something they are actually showing an interest in that something. Unlike those who simply accept it without question. Likely they don't even have an interest, or aren't inquisitive about the subject.
What say you?

Well put!!! I am no fan of CS Lewis theology, but he broke from his atheism because how Tolkien described the Christian text. He saw the enchantment the spell he was living under because of how Tolkien approached the text. I don't see in Lewis' writing much maturity though as if like an alcoholic suddenly realizes he isn't the center of everything but then just moves that a tiny tiny bit. There is zero in lewis' writing in regards to nature, Tolkiens writings are much much more nature oriented which I appreciate. Lewis could spin a fantastic story though and I do love his fiction. Lion witch and the wardrobe is outstanding.I agree.
You need doubt to see through an enchantment, no?
"This is one of the miracles of love: It gives a power of seeing through its own enchantments and yet not being disenchanted."
~C. S. Lewis
Sulfur was not attributed to the soul at that point in time as far as I know. If I remember correctly that came about in dark ages alchemy.
If your interpretation is correct that would be just another Bible contradiction.
OK, this is how I'm following the conversation:"With this statement everything becomes a false authority:"
socratic questioning is considered healthy.
jesus, if he existed, said to ask, seek, knock.
question authority
{clarified} I said: "Do you have a source referencing where Jesus said this? But not his authority or you get hellfire.
If there are no verified sources, then your claim of Jesus saying questioning his authority leading to hellfire is baseless. Any claims would be baseless--based on false authority.I was referring to the user's statement that we should question everything.
And no one has any verified sources of Yeshua saying anything.
alchemy is older than the kjv of the bible. in fact, it is attributed to hermes trigmegistus.
the philosophers stone is mentioned in revelation 4:3

I hope this clears everything up.
Did I say anything about the kjv?
I said that, if memory serves, alchemy is not older than the bible.
People attribute alchemy to Egpyt but I have seen no evidence of that. Mind showing some proof?any version of the chiristian bible isn't older than alchemy. alchemy is attributed to chem, or egypt,. chem is the ancient term by the hebrews for egyptians. chem, or ham, was the father of the egyptian nation.
moses got his education in the land of chem. this is why it is written, "out of egypt I called my son". or out of the furnace.

all dynasties tended to expect tribute from their vassals. even englands monarchy enslaved its people. you can enslave people in a myriad number of ways.Actually archaeology seems to suggest that the Jews where never slaves to the Egyptians.
Umm, nope. Here is where the problem is.
Fool said on his own authority to question everything but used a scripture as a vague backing.
I pointed out that questioning Yeshua's authority would make you got to hell in Christian theology.
I did not say that Yeshua said that.

A Brief History of Alchemy
FYI, a famous scientist was also a gnostic and practitioner of alchemy
you know him as Isaac Newton.

fyi, i'm not providing any more "evidence". you can google and research yourself.
I mean actually historical or scientific articles.
And I know that Sir Newton was an alchemist.

what you mean?
you were provided a historical information via a link to a university page.
if you're quite capable of an opinion, you're quite capable of doing your own research.
